Petition: Auto-Save Feature Needed

The petition is as follows:

"Dear EA / Maxis,

It is the request of many gamers in this community that a Auto-Save feature is desperately needed within the video game SPORE.

This is to aid in the following:

To prevent data loss after a computer / application failure,
To prevent players loosing hours of gaming time
To allow players to reload their game after doing something awkward (eg going to war with a nation about 3 times bigger than you).

Also, players should be able to start from the beginning of that stage if they wanted to start over.

This feature could EASILY be implemented. This is a most saught after feature of any game released now-a-days. Why is SPORE exempt?

This should also be made an optional feature. (where players can disable it if they so wish)

Please EA, make it so."

Although this would destroy the "make for fun and scrap", the gains are far better than the cons.

You know what: because of the nature of the game I expected it to have autosave,
play through on the first day to space age ... and the game crashes.

Sucked having to find out I had to start in the tribal stage again. Great job!
What are you thinking not implementing an auto save in this kind of game?

This is the only "serious" problem I'm having - my memory is awful, so I often forget to save.

The only reason I save religiously on The Sims 2 is because my computer used to crash a lot, so I had to save every five minutes. I'd rather not have the same happen on Spore - which, judging by the feedback some have given, is likely.
