Default Cytheria's creatures of Cthulhu

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn!

So anyhoo's, with the return of the Great Old One's due at some point, i figured it might help pave the way for their return if i introduced their likenesses to the worlds of Spore.

With that thought in mind, ive developed a sporecast containing a couple of completed Cthulhu inspired models - Cytheria's: Creatures of Cthulhu which currently contains

A mindflayer:

and everyones favorite Dark Messenger of the Great Old Ones, Nyarlethotep:

and finally for now, Chaugnar Faugnh

Coming up as soon as ive finished polishing off the models, I'll add to this sporecast the Ithaqua, Azathoth, Yog Sothoth and Cthulhu himself.
Also planned for the near future is a follow up sporecast, The Architecture of R'lyeh, although as you can imagine, creating buildings with non-ecludian geometry is giving me kind of a head ache, so may take some time.

In the meantime, enjoy the creatures.

Basically i'm aiming to put together some creatures and buildings based around the Call of Cthulhu mythos, which were based on a series of stories by H.P. Lovecraft.

In those stories, a race known as the Great Old Ones, had been entombed in their city beneath the sea after until such time "as the stars were ready for them". At this time, their preist, a creature named Cthulhu, would wake them, and they'd destroy the land of men.

Old horror stories, at their best, and i recommend them to anyone who enjoys vintage horror. From the original story, a number of books were published expanding Lovecrafts idea, and from them role playing games, and recently, computer games.

Thanks for the feedback Illanair.... let me know if theres any Old Ones you'd like to see "sporeified"

Very good work, you just catch the right mood for these creatures.
It only misses a good ol'Chtulhu and a Yog-Sothoth in full shape, to hit the spot!

Can i just add a little child found wandering around with no goal?

Here it is... BabyChton

You can find it in your worlds, if you're (un)lucky enough!

Well I'm afraid I don't really know anything about the Cthulhu universe. I just remember the version of Cthulhu, Chibi Cthulhu and Cowthulhu from the Munchkin cardgame and thought I'd give some feedback to the best of my abillities

What - no Big ol' C himself? That'd make one epic Epicizied creature!

Lol, big C is proving a little difficult to get right within the complexity limits we've got.
I've got him most of the way there, just not as polished as id really like before publishing, but he is on his way

Done these some time ago, a kind of Cutesy Cthulhu.
Great Race of Yith potentially very rewarding but vertical cone shape is tough

Heh, I made a kind of sub-Cthulhu a little back too

He's probably quite a popular creature to try making

Given popular demand for the big C himself, heres the unpolished model for Cthulhu, which ive also added to the Cthulhu sporecast.

Looks better in game, and i could do a lot more with him if the complexity limit was increased *sigh*

In any case, enjoy.

Another 2 creatures added to the sporecast:

Ithaqua:

and a Deep One, Spawning from a human host.

This last one was inspired by a creature i found flicking through the sporepedia some time ago, Living host Subject 10-B created by Arastoph, couldnt find Arastoph's original to copy from so it's been borrowed from memory, but as it was their work to begin with, credit where its due, and please take a look at his original peice and rate it if you get a spare few mins

I think their predominant colour was a greyish-green, though they had white bellies. They were mostly shiny and slippery, but the ridges of their backs were scaly. Their forms vaguely suggested the anthropoid, while their heads were the heads of fish, with prodigious bulging eyes that never closed. At the sides of their necks were palpitating gills, and their long paws were webbed. They hopped irregularly, sometimes on two legs and sometimes on four. I was somehow glad that they had no more than four limbs. Their croaking, baying voices, clearly used for articulate speech, held all the dark shades of expression which their staring faces lacked ... They were the blasphemous fish-frogs of the nameless design - living and horrible.

Default Wow...

I admire how people can get their creatures to look so perfect.
I'm not really sure where else to put this, but it seems to fit the theme at least a little. So...
How about a Beholder?
They appear in Doom, or something... along with a D&D monster book... and of course numerous other places besides. I'm not familiar with Cthulu, though... It still seems to fit in somehow. xD

So yeah, um, I suck at making stuff m'self. I'm still learning.
