Default Solution I got from EA for creature creator crashing.

"Greetings,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Customer Support.

I understand you're having problems with the Spore Creature Creator, and we
apologize for the difficulties that this has caused you. Please be assured
that I will do my best to have your issue resolved immediate.

- What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far in order to resolve the
issue?

If you've already uninstalled EA Download Manager, please reinstall.

* EA Download Manager
http://na.llnet.cdn.ea.com/u/f/eaonl...-installer.exe

Then, follow the steps above to replace DMCmdPortalClient.dll with the
updated version. Without the EADM, your game won't be able to patch itself.
Even if you do not choose to run EADM regularly, you'll need to run it when
an important patch becomes available.

To resolve this issue, you'll need to update the EADM DMCmdPortalClient.dll
file.

1. Double click on My Computer.
2. Double click on your local drive (C.
3. Double click on Program Files.
4. Double click on Electronic Arts.
5. Double click on Spore.
6. Double click on Sporebin.
7. There should be a file named DMCmdPortalClient.dll right click on this
file and choose Delete.
8. Replace this file with the updated version:

Updated DMCmdPortalClient.dll File

Note: If you do not replace this file, your SPORE Creature Creator
will not be able to patch itself.
9. Try starting the Creature Creator again.

For the latest Spore tips and troubleshooting steps, you can visit our Spore
FAQ at FAQ.

I hope the above information helps. Please email us about any significant
change or development with your issue. I will be looking forward for your
response and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Should you require further assistance about this or any Electronic Arts
games in the future please feel free to email us again. You can also visit
our website and review our extensive Self Help Knowledgebase

Wasn't aware that it was on the FAQ. Have tried alot of the fixes on the forum and so far the only ones that have worked for me have been "uninstalling the EA downloader" and the above fix provided on the Spore website FAQ.

That worked for me. Thanks for posting!

Of course uninstalling the EADM to begin with worked too. Had to reinstall it to redownload the SCC.
