You stand corrected- 10k+!

I think it's a popular subject and this thread has been running for a year now. Then again, that doesn't explain the 1000 views in just a few hours, so it must be a popular topic. Either that or someone's repeatedly hitting F5!

But if it is that this is a popular subject, if all of those people who wanted this (skate on PC) were to create an account, we would soon be inundated with posts here about it...

If that was the case there'd never be any games released on PC.
It's probably more likey to be projected market data; ie they don't think they would make enough money from it. That and the controller issue; they'd have to do something similar to guitar hero with a controller bundled with the game, which again may drive costs up and profits down.

I would assume the quoted statement was merely a joke. If not, you know nothing about computer hardware. There are games that are ran even on my PC that are way better graphically then skate. It's not next-gen WHAT SO EVER.

I think they definitely should do skate for the PC it would simply be better, also you can use a 360 controller it would work so well!!

“it’s going to be not as good or only for a select few people.” Basically a port of a console game would be rubbish, or not enough people would have good enough pc's for it to be a viable financially.

And as for buying consoles for 'only' one game? Skate, Metal Gear 4, Little Big Planet, Gran Turismo 5 and GTA4 until recently to name few which interest me.

Don't get me wrong I'm not against skate on pc. Just that there's plenty of great console exclusives that I find it a little short sighted to consider skate to be the only game worth owning out of all games available on 360 and ps3.
With high def tellies now commonplace, a ps3 is one of the cheapest bluray players on the market to take advantage of that 40" plasma, while 360's on ebay are as little as £120.
Wait, wait ,wait......Why Force Unleashed isnt on PC??!?!?
Why all of the CRYSIS series are not on any "next-gen" consoles??
Answer:Cause console is ZERO to one high quality PC.
You guys are so into that console like xbox 360 is in a range of a good PC??
Its nothing that i got against xbox....i even would like to have one.....but i cant say that its better then a PC.

So EA...please bring SKATE to PC....cant you see how much we beg you for that one??
Please.....WE WILL BUY A CONTROLLER!!
Just bring it on....

PC ROCKS!!!

Default flickit?

Some people are saying you'd need a gamepad to play it and enjoy it. But I beg to differ. I'm sure using mouse would be simply amazing. I'd love to use my mouse (mouse gestures), it's 6 buttons and the tiltwheel to control the skateboard. That would be doable, but I doubt developers would want to spend time on perfecting it for the mouse.

Anyway, I doubt Skate. will ever run on PCs with the Skate 2 release date so soon. And I doubt any future Skate game will run on PCs. Even tho' I bet it actually runs, I don't think they use consoles every time they want to test something. Why don't games run on PCs anyway? They're made on them and technically there should be no problem. Even the OS is the same as x360's.

This whole subject has been done to death. On Skate 1 and now Skate 2.

Stop moaning about it not being on a PC!!!! Especially on an internet forum is complete waste of time. EA aren't going to respond or act upon you lot bloody moaning or suggesting starting a petition - if it means that much actually write a letter in 'real world' to EA Customer Services.

Or how about just buying an XBOX or PS3 - like eveyone else????

Easy for you to say if you've got an x360 or ps3, but asking me to buy one just demonstrates your lack of intelligence. You're saying "like everyone else", so you're clearly American. In Europe PC gaming is more popular than console gaming. Also, you suggested to send "real mail" to EA, again trying to demonstrate your ignorance over the rest of the world and your lack of technical knowledge. If you think I'm going to spend time and money on air mail, you're wrong. Forum, of course, won't get us anywhere. But there are better alternatives to achieve it than physical mail, like e-mail or petitions.
I refuse to buy a console, because:
-I've got a good and relatively new PC
-I don't want to spend more money
-I don't want PC gaming to die. I want console gaming and PC gaming to get equal (or console gaming to die, I don't care. What do you need consoles for? you could buy a PC with a gamepad and get more).

Instead of starting a flame war, I'd like to ask if there's any reason games aren't for PCs "by default". Because they actually are (they are developed and probably partially tested on PCs), but they are limited to run on consoles only? Then you get low quality PC ports if they happen to get "ported".

Hey geek boy - go buy Chess 3d Battle for your PC or something. Or maybe, work out some emulation code/hack to make your PC play XBOX games. Seeing as your so intelligent.

Me i'd rather keep PCs for work, and Consoles for play.

No, I suck at chess. xD I never care to think in advance and just do something random if I happen to play it. And emulation is never really good, unless you're trying to emulate a poor machine. Also, I'm not much of a programmer.
Me, I like to use one machine for everything. (more precisely, two machines, a cell phone can't be in a PC) Imagine if you needed different machines for different stuff (like one for typing, one for internet, one for graphic editing...basically imagine life without PCs). And I choose PC over consoles for games, because it runs games better with nicer graphics.

More what? Consoles are cheaper and will play every game that's released on them for starters.

Yes, they likely are developed on PC's. Really top of the range PC's. Trouble is, not every PC is the same spec. Hell, even if the hardware's the same, background software (anti-viruses & such like) will make them run at different speeds. Now imagine you're a developer. Do you want to develop for a platform where everyone's system is exactly the same, or where no two systems running the game will have the same spec?
There's also a lot of talk about piracy/torrents, which is partly true I suppose, but also an excuse for poor sales.

I've got a question though. How come all you PC-only guys want Skate on PC sooo badly if you've not even played it? I'd understand if you'd played it on a mate's console, but the way you're all so anti-console I don't think you have.

I hate how a lot of games are not for PCs. Is is because they can't work-around the bugs that might happen with some hardware/drivers and just don't release the game? They don't have to pay anything to release a game on PCs, contrary to consoles. And what's the porting process? Why are some ports crappy?

Since when could everyone afford a ps3 or a 360 if this thread bugs you so much.Dont read it!. I have the game on 360 but i think that if EA made it available on other platforms such as psp, PC and ps2 it would be better for everyone. I mean its not like they would have to worry about sales because that wouldn't be an issue. I think that EA should take this amazing game and make it available on other platforms before companies like ubisoft, activision or capcom do.
