I signed up for the Original Sims 1 website, so that I could get all the cool downloadable furniture and stuff. But then, it said I had to register my serial code, so I went to the page to register my code, but then I realized I had thrown out all my old Sims 1 game boxes except from the Sims Superstar, also the manuals (for all of them, including superstar), so I can't find my serial code for my game or any expansion. Is there any way to solve this, or is it just my fault for throwing out my manuals?

If the games are still installed on your PC you get retrieve the serial numbers by downloading the retriever program from this page:

By PC, do you mean Mac, too? Also, it says 'Download at own risk!'. Will it be okay?
EDIT: I've got it, but where do I find the codes? At TheSimsCDKey, all there is when I open it is a Text Edit with a whole load of random symbols, letters and numbers. I thought there was NO possible way to find the codes in there, unless I was looking in the wrong place. Help?

Are you using a Mac? If so I'm afraid that program won't work, I'm not aware of any others for Mac either or even if the CD keys are stored at all like they are on windows. I did search but can't find anything.
It's probably best to contact EA support. Or possibly Aspyr if you have the Mac versions, I think they're published by Aspyr instead of EA. I can't actually remember there being a great amount of content on the Sims site anyway, you might have a better chance with downloads from fansites. There is a long list on the official site that's a good place to start. |
