Default To Buy.... Or Not To Buy?

That is, the Question!
I have Life Stories, and while I have my laptop which can't run ANYTHING but these 'stories' I am dying. I am dying for PETS, and Castaways.
What are they like?
I've gone onto all the review sites and what they seem to say is;
It costs so many pounds. That is good.
The end!
URGENT, please help!

Oh my word.
*Ten minutes later* Sorry, just recovering from the heart attack I had when I saw someone posting!
Thank you!
That has made me VERY excited about getting these two games!

Personally, I like them.
My computer recently broke down, and I was so bored!
I am temporarily using somebody else's laptop, but there were no games or anything on it, so I decided to buy Pet Stories (well, that was the only one I could find actually).
In Pet stories and Life Stories there are two different stories to be played. I believe in castaway there is only one, but twice as long, so basically it's the same.
I love that there are goals to complete, which is something I really missed in the normal Sims games.
One thing that I don't like, is that it takes maybe one day for you to finish one story. So you're done pretty quickly.
Also, custom content is not available for these story games, which I hate.
After you finish a story, you can continue playing freely with you story sim, or create a whole new sim.

Oh, also, cheats are very limited in this game..

The only reason I bought Castaway and Pets (several months later) is to work as a placeholder 'til Sims 3 comes along. They're only $20 each, so it didn't hurt my wallet at all. The only thing I can tell you is that Stories get boring fast because of limitations.
