Default Is it worth it?

Hi, as they are bringing out sims 3.. next year i think ? i was wondering, sim2 is ok, but can get a bit boring doing the same stuff over and over again, and i dont want 2 spend loads of money on sims 3, so is the sims stories (life, pets or both) worth getting?

You can check out this thread here, I personally won't get it. Not only because TS3 might be coming out in a year or so, but because I can play TS2 fine on my laptop.

I thought TS3 was coming out in 2009. Meh, maybe I was wrong.

i think the main question here is what is so special about life stories (or pets) because from what i've heard the onlything that makes it better than the sims 2 if that it is laptop friendly and teh whole story bit in it but is it really worth getting it just for these small things?
btw is there anything else int his game that makes it worth buying?

The Sims 3 has not been announced officially, to my knowledge.
