I am so excited to have the create-a-world tool coming available in December, now all that is missing in the game (for me!) is apartments. As my favorite EP in Sims 2, I think it is desperately needed for Sims 3... so if someone would be so kind to pass that and these ideas along to the developers, I would be so very grateful!
I can't think of a good name beyond the obvious of Sims 3 Apartments... maybe someone else here has one. NEW TRAITS... Claustrophobic - Negative moodlets in small places and in big crowds; positive moodlets for open spaces, would be dramatic and "can't breathe" when feeling claustrophobic and over emotional sims would be even more dramatic about it. Irresponsible - Would like an apartment to a house, leaves food cooking, large positive moodlets for spending money and skipping work, maybe a negative moodlet for paying rent on time? NEW CAREER PATHS... PT job of a front desk person so that more expensive apartments could have someone up front to call them a cab, clean the apartment building, etc. PT job of Realtor or something similar with a partner option on apartment buildings to be landlord - then a rabbit hole would only be necessary for reporting to and you could watch your sim work because they would have to go to the apartment buildings to clean. OTHER THINGS... *The stage in build mode returns! *Ability to select any type of door to be an apartment door and then a rug could appear to designate that. *It would be great to be able to have apartments above shops, like a coffee shop, if that is possible to have 2 different types on the same lot, and then the apartment right above would have noise from below. *Ability to ask another sim (not an NPC) to be your roommate without having to control them. Perhaps introduce the community board as an object where you can look for a job / find a roommate, or a large object to be placed on community lots instead of on the wall. *Bring back the industrial decor items and those awesome open windows and add some decorative objects like stacks of boxes / suitcases that you can still place things on. *Heavy sleepers would sleep thru noise thru the walls. *Objects / furniture that looks cheap for more run down apartments which would then make rent cheaper. *Apartments could have a private elevator. *Spiral staircase makes a comeback. *More plants - and larger plants - for indoors. I can't think of anything else, overall I was very pleased with the original apartments EP except you couldn't just walk to another lot... which we now can do. I think this pack would be so beneficial because my sims take forever to move up the career path to get money, and... this would make it so much more real to me. What kid graduates and buys their own house? Hopefully others here will have more ideas they could post!

Cool ideas but if they're gonna do it then they'll do it and if they won't then they won't...they're not gonna look at this thread and go "we must make apartments for The Sims 3!"
I hope I don't sound rude I just wanted you to know that in reality they'll do what they like (obviously to please us and to some degree listen to us) but basically it will be whatever they choose to make.

Yeah, while lots of the ideas are good, it's a bit pointless.

How the hell is it pointless?? This is a sims 3 forum, and they can make whatever threads they like related to the sims 3!!!! i like hearing other people's ideas! Why do people like you always make forums like these so unapproachable!

I can see exactly what they mean; while this is a Sims 3 forum, constant suggestions for future EP's (basically any Sims 1 or 2 EP's they liked and want re-makes of) can get very repetitive. Maybe there should be a sticky where people can suggest new EP ideas to avoid so many of these threads being made?

Yeah maybe there should be a sticky, good idea, but i just think that when you havnt seen the previous threads and you make one that is similar, all they have to do is just say that this thred has been made before, instead of complaining!

What is the point of the forum if you cannot post something like this or game discoveries without getting negative feedback?! I really enjoy reading other people's ideas for EPs and why is it so bad to post ideas? I've seen posts where the moderators said they take some of the info and pass it along - if they have tons of posts about wanting apartments maybe they'd be more apt to do it?
If you don't want to read other people's ideas don't click on the post... I made it pretty clear what the thread was about :S

Also, AL was a popular TS2 EP so I'm sure there are already some plans somewhere to make it, regardless of what we think. If they think we're gonna buy something and they'll get cash, they'll make it. Anyway like I said, nice ideas. Apartmentsin TS3 could have a real student-industrial feel to it if it was above a coffee shop or something. I'd definately like to buy a luxury 7 bedroom apartment so my legacy family can join in the EP too as I felt more luxurious apartments with lotsof space were left out in TS2 and unless you used cheats you couldn't make your own...

I think it's a great idea for an EP, but since it already existed for sims 2 they would probably change it up a bit, expand on the apartment idea.
My favourite is the claustrophic trait! I love the thought you put into your ideas, especially for emotional sims reactions lol |

I am sure they'll make it, well pretty sure, I just am not a patient person and would like it sooner than later. I hadn't seen a post listing ideas specifically for an apartment EP, so if I missed them I didn't mean to duplicate.

I miss apartments too.I wish they'd bring them back. They should combine apartments with a nightlife/downtown ep.
