Howdy,
I'm sure some people are sick and tired of this question and what not, but anyway.. Will there ever be an option for The Sims 3 on LAN, please don't mistake LAN with ONLINE, I'm sure many member of the community would agree with me, but I would love to be able to play with my girlfriend in the same neighbourhood. I know people are opposed to online play, but this is LAN so you won't get strangers, only those you know.. .. .. .. |

Well, I think they should remake it and impliment LAN, maybe have it as an add-on thingy!
The Sims 3 - LAN and resell it, I wouldn't mind paying an extra £20 for LAN availablity, They have most the game there, sure they might need to reprogram it, but they can then just use like almost everything they already have in it, so it shouldn't be toooooo hard. And they could make lots of money!

But i suppose it would be difficult to do an LAN version of the game because.. for example.. X and Y both had the LAN game.. player X might have built this awesome house.. and player Y might have built a community lot on the same plot of land as player X has in their game.. so there would be conflictions that way.
And as for speeding the game up etc.. both games would have to run at the same speed to work properly.. well.. sensibly.. cant have one family be on speed 3 for ages whilst the other family has been on speed 1.. the days would differ.. would be too complex for that kind of game |

As true as all that might be, you will know, and be able to plan for all of that because well.... they're family, so you will be able to communicate and be like "Speed 3?" "Sure" Ooorrr something, I played Bustin Out with my buddy many years ago, and that was easily worked around.

![]() I do like the idea of LAN play, maybe I'm controlling one family here and my fiancé's controlling another family over there in this neighbourhood, but it does raise more questions. What happens if I play the neighbourhood when my fiancé isn't playing? Is his family not there or do they control themselves? And if they control themselves, what if they do something he doesn't like? I think it's a really nice idea but just too complicated to implement. There are so many possible areas for things to go wrong. What would be cool though, is for one of the more console-like versions of the game to be playable online (in fact, some of the console games are playable as local multiplayer games on the same console). Something like Life Stories could be an online game, if each scenario has two main characters instead of one. |

The Sims Online was fun - I was able to play the game with friends that never played the original sims before. The only let down was the subscription fees. It's also a shame that the PS2's multiplayer servers for The Sims Bustin' Out were shut down. Barely anyone had the hardware for the PS2 to go online, and now there's PS3's (The backwards compatible ones) which allow you to go online with PS2 games. Oh well, I hope to see the sims back online in the future
