Default Video Card Upgrade?

Hello,

Hope I am posting in the right place.

I have just bought this game, checked I had all the right specs (which I thought I did) and passed on everything except my Video Card which is ancient compared to the rest of my computer.

It is a NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 440. Could anyone kindly recommend a reasonable upgrade for this so that I am able to play the game? I have more than enough hard drive space, reasonable processor speed and 1.5GB of RAM...

Thank you!

Hope you enjoy the game
How much are you prepared to spend on a new graphics card?

Gosh I really want to be able to enjoy it, just need this video card and it should run smoothly! It was such an anti climax!

About £50? No more really, unless I absolutely have to. Any suggestions?

What kind of motherboard do you have, Or post the PC complete specs if its still listed somewhere.
I have a ATI HD 3650, you can get for about £50 and it runs without any lag, But I also have 4GB of RAM and a Dual Core processor so its best to see the rest of your specs first.

As your graphics card was made in 2002, I'd highly doubt you have a PCI - E Capable Motherboard, Which leaves you with AGP cards which are more expensive and not a good as PCI - E.
At my local Computer store, There is a AGP version of my card the ATI HD 3650 which works perfect with my system for £55, The difference is mines PCI - E and I have Better specs than you.
If I was you I would just get a new computer, As even with a new graphics card your other specs bottleneck your computer, But you would be able to play The Sims 3 satisfactory but not great quality.
