A few weeks ago i kept complaining about the sims 3 crashing to my desktop, well it doesnt do it as much now but i'm not sure what i did!
It only does it after i have been playing on it for about 7 hours!! i know, thats a domn long time but my sister plays on it too so i have to take turns, which is loads of strain on my pc!! has anyone solved this problem totally?

Go to The Sims 3, Folder in My Documents /Electronic Arts/ The Sims 3, then delete the package files with Cache at the end of their name E.g CompositorCache.
Then let the movie run instead of skipping it. If it dosn't work first time, Try again. Also use The Sims 3 EXE to run the file, C: Program Files/ Electronic Arts/ The Sims 3/ Game / Bin, Its in the "Bin" Directory. |

I've found out if you accidently hit the caps lock key it causes it to go to the desktop but you can bring the game back up by clicking on the sims 3 in the lower left screen.
