Default NVIDIA card owners- re latest driver update

There appears to be a possible issue with with running The Sims 3 after updating your NVIDIA drivers to 191.07.

If you are experiencing problems since updating your drivers, there is some information here from EA Support.

I shall avoid updating this time.

If the game is running fine for you then you don't need to update your drivers - stick with what you have.

I had to update my driver to play The Sims 3.

I do have some problems with the new driver. For example, AOL won't work and My Camera isn't recognized by the computer.

If someone could help, that would be greatly appreciated. =]

You could try going back to an older driver using the information in the link in the first post maybe.

I haven't been told that it effects Spore but I suppose it could be possible.

It was information that was passed to me from The Sims and the tech teams.

Glad to hear that you aren't having any problems with it though!

The Nvidia driver problem is definitely on XP, I updated to 191.07 and you get the launcher OK but when you try to play you get a black screen, then a couple of seconds later it drops back to desktop. I have rolled back and installed the 195.39 BETA, this lets the game run but there seem to be video issues with it, roof on my test house has rectangular holes in it, random gaps in clothing, hair etc. and funny bits of landscape, may have to go back one more version. I didn't have these problems with my really old driver. (I have an Nvidia 7300GT with 500+ Mbyte memory)
