Hi guys, I got the game under some pretty unusual circumstances.
I bought the game on disk, so had the game case along with the serial code for it inside the case, but it turns out my stupid laptop doesn't have a Dual-Layer DVD So I couldn't install the game via disk, so I ended up using the serial code in my game to download it, off the EA website, or EA download manager? I forget. In any case, I will soon be getting Windows 7 meaning I will have to Re-Install everything including The Sims 3, how do I go about doing this? if I de-authorize the machine first can I use the same serial code to download it again? |

I don't think you do. I heard somewhere that you can authorise the downloaded one on 5 different computers. Still, I would uninstall it anyway, just to be sure.

You may wish to double check with EA Support about using your digital copy and re-downloading but there is some information on de-authorizing your game for your old laptop here.
