A similar thing happend in my game. My sim had a boyfriend since a teen and I had to wait a few sim days for him to catch up in age before I could get them engaged.

I arranged their wedding at a community pool because they were both athletic sims. The wedding party starts and the groom hasn't shown up as the guests start to leave the bride makes some phone calls inviting him over. When he does eventually turn up he immediately jumps into the pool and starts thrashing about resulting in the arrival of the Grim Reaper. I was totally gobsmacked but left it as it was. She later met and married someone else.

I think that maybe the problem is you don't have enough time to write more than one sentence, or maybe you don't have enough imagination to know how to communicate.
To be honest, the almost smug superior attitude you put across in your posts annoys me more than the rude or slightly slow people.

And communication isn't always about using long winded explainations; often it's better to be concise - short and sweet. I didn't have a problem with the length of your post, mainly because it was telling a story about your problem and how you resolved it, rather than it actually asking for help over a problem. Annnyway...

I feel with you! I would be so completely annoyed if that happened to my sims, as I spend an age and a half making them absolutely perfect (or anti-perfect in the case of a few of my more interesting sims) and I get quite attached to them, as silly as it sounds. Thanks for the warning over the pools and drowing - none of my sims have earnt enough money to splash out on a nice big pool yet. And now I know a good method of population control.

Also, shout out of thanks to lovecat - I didn't know you could do that to retrieve lost families!

Btw, anyone know the limit to how many Sims you can have to a house, and when they leave, do they take a part of the money with them?

umm, as far as i know when i've split up households they don't take the a cut of the household money but they're given $16,000 instead.
Would've been cool if they actually got a cut of the funds.

I believe they do get a cut of the funds if while playing the family... you choose "move" and you if you choose to move them to a house & select the house... They do get some of the funds, which is pretty cool. Especially if the household you're playing is rich!

I am sorry if I come over as being smug and superior. I am not trying to make excuses for that, but you could find it's due to having used message boards for many years,.. All are adult or over 18 sites, so perhaps as the age here from what I have seen seems to mostly be 15 to 18, I am not used to interacting with that age on a message board. I have grandchildren in their early teens. My age is obviously showing in my posts.
Blalalahe attitude since my first post could be as a result of this post to me by Bern Black who suggest this is how I should have worded my post.
Quote:
I spent ages making 4 sim couples, but shortly after moving them in, after romance had already blossomed, one drowned in the pool."
I find that suggestion rude, and ridiculous. From what I have read of the several posters who agree with BB, and yourself, it is helping to create an "attitude" on both sides.
Btw, my original post "Has anyone else had this happen?" was not asking for help, it was a question, if you care to look you will only find one question mark in my post.

I can comprehend perfectly well, thank you. Your first post wasn't very well constructed - even you would have to admit that one. Probably because you were so emotional whilst writing it. And what is that statement, if not extremely rude? I was trying to be helpful.

I didn't have a problem with the length of your post, mine was lengthy too.
