The sound issue seems fine now, but 4x speed still doesn't work.

Is the fourth arrow only speeding you through the Sim's current task? That is how it should work.

So it doesn't actually speed time up, just makes them take less than two hours to eat a waffle? Good, I wasn't looking out for that.

Lets assume you have three tasks queued.

1. If you have selected the fourth arrow:
The fourth arrow completes the current (first) task (at speed 3), then the speed reverts to speed 1 for the second and third task. After the third task it remains at speed 1 if no further tasks are selected. The sim acts independatly.

2. If instead you have selected the third arrow:
The third arrow completes the current (first) task (at speed 3), then the speed remains at speed 3 for the second and third task. After the third task it remains at speed 3 if no further tasks are selected. The sim acts independatly.

So the fourth speed gives you more time to choose another interaction after the current one is completed. as it slows down the sims independant actions.

Example: I have queued up sleeping, bath and prepare meal. I set the speed to 3.
when sleeping and bath is completed I change speed to 4 (same as 3). But when prepare meal is completed the game speed reduces to 1. Allowing me to choose the next activity sooner rather than later (time wise) if I want too.

If I had left it at 3 my sim would have performed more independant actions (like playing guitar) faster, than I may have wanted.

Wish i could see what fixed, see if speeds better....But alas my sims 3 crashes (turns self off or restarts my pc) at either the loading that farming town that was a free download...loading create a new sim....loading a family...or a few seconds into a game.

Plus it was advertised you could see things at such places like the gym...noooo i can only see building...if my sim goes in there...they disappeared.

Whats the crack with this game? I paid cash and its simply not working. Pc's is more than what the min spec is required. I got my dad (pc tech) to look at it and he's saying its the game.

Shouldn't this new patch included these stupid problems? I know i'm not alone in this.

So atm i've this game just on my pc that i've re installed 3 times. Lost the family that would work for 15 mins at a time (had to save ALOT lol) so i'm like stuck. *sobs*

I agree. My game keeps crashing

Today EA anounced they are working on a new patch for the SIMS 3. This will have a lot of fixes and some new things as well.

I hope this new patch will be a stand alone because I have not downloaded the first patch yet. If it aint broken don't fix it is my motto and I am very pleased with the way the game runs on my Pc.

But if the new patch adds some features I will definitely download that one.
