Default Custom Clothing

Okay, i got Sims 3 yesterday evening, installed it last night but became too tired to paly it. So i only played on it for about 30mins this morning, not even completing character creation!

But anyway, thats not what im here for

In Sims 2, i loooved being able to create my own clothing - i would take logos and such from real clothing and import it into my game (also uploading them to TSR, in which they were more than popular!). But NOOO! No sign of a BodyShop....so that stumped me. So in the game i thought, oh because of this whole new "My Sims" type of customization (with the patterns and all that), there would be a simple IMPORT IMAGE ect icon or EDIT pallette.....but no just alot of patterns and a colour chooser ¬¬

So my next investigation was into the Game Directory. I was looking for some Clothing directory....i mean the one in Sims 1 was simple they were pre-made images! And in TS2 you'd use B.Shop to extract the required bits.....do you think i could find anything related to clothing....Nope.

So just wondering my fellow modders out there.....is there anyway of me being able to edit clothes in a simple Image Editing Program (Photoshop, GIMP, Paint, Fireworks)?

Coz if not then this game isnt "the lalalalala" its just "lalalalala". Sims was all about modding your game - i mean i had over a 1000 items from TSR and third party sites of a range of Custom Content.

So if any of you know of any way of editing the clothing texture images - then i would be more than greatful.....because i put off creating more clothes for Sims 2 due to the release of Sims 3.

I am not a novice at computing, so i can cope with complex actions to do this.

Much Thanks

P.S I will keep looking for a way, my next approach is the same way you edit Windows Media Player Skins....chaging the file prefixes to things such as .Zip/.Rar
