Yeah i find that a little boring i mean i would give a slap if my partner done that in front of me, well more than that but in game i think after something like 2 wrongful doings she should come across and slap on the face or something to make it a bit more exciting.

I also think when you visit a sim home and steal something that they should call the police only tried this once but my sim was told to leave, really the owner of the house should have called police on my sim to get them arrested. maybe this was a one of not sure.

Overall, an excellent game I am really loving it!

Graphics;

I love some of the little animations like the sparkles when a friend level goes up, the bubbles when cleaning etc. It all adds to the amazing graphics (I spent an entire sim night watching the sky change from sunset to sunrise, the effects it has on the water etc...lovely!) and I am able to run everything on high with no problems atall. The sims look much more lifelike while maintaining the Sims cartoony trademark look. I haven't tried any snapshots or videos yet, but then I never really used them previously so probably never will lol. The UI is intuitive and easy to get to grips with, as are the camera controls once I got used to using the right mouse button. I dont have anything negative to say about the appearance of the game atall!

Create a Sim/Style;

As someone who never tried making custom content, I am loving the customisationability (is that a word??) it is again very intuitive and easy to get the hang of, and I am having a great time playing fashion and interior designer! The level of furniture and objects is fine for me, but I would have liked more styles of clothes and hair. All the mens jeans seem to be either flared or skinny...not always a good look! But I am still able to create truly unique sims and love the level of detail in creating the faces and body shapes. The heads do look a little too big for the body though, or maybe I am missing an option somewhere?

Building;

Its a shame half walls and stages are not included, but ho-hum...it does seem easier to build than in Sims 2 and the styles of doors/windows etc are a lot more modern, and the ability to create your own wallpapers and paint effects, woods and all the rest is truly inspiring....building and designing homes has always been my favourite part of the Sims and it has now reached a new and much more exiting level!

Interactions;

Its a lot harder to form the relationships you want, and sometimes you just have to accept its not going to happen....how much more lifelike can it be? This adds a new challenge to the game for me and I see it as a huge plus, not a negative. The "special" interactions depending on traits are brilliant...I have only made nice Sims so far, but will be experimenting with plain old evil and nasty ones too...the different interactions will continue to surprise and delight me, I am sure. I married off a favourite son to the maid, Allison, only to then discover she has the heartbreaker lifetime wish!! A few sim days later, I gossiped with a friend to discover she had been flirting with her brother in law! The hussy! This level of story progression and free will is brilliant in my opinion, and I can live with the idea of other Sims I have made leaving the town as it adds more realism.

General Gameplay;

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this game! I love it that I can take my Sim for a walk and check out the scenery, collect things and meet other sims and see some charming interactions with other sims. The open world idea is GENIUS and it really is a huge improvement on an already brilliant game!

I love it that as well as a career, I can also work on other skills that bring much more rewards before such as the writing and tinkering skills, it means that one half of a sim couple can stay home with the kids and still "work" without actually having to go to work! As for the careers themselves, so much more varied and interesting than before and I love the opportunities that pop up.

The traits and moodlets work VERY well I think. They make each Sim even more unique and give them oodles of personality. I am already attached to my Sim family!

I know some people are complaining about the ultra-speed, but tbh I quite like it. I like being able to fast speed through some actions (like showering etc) and not having to hover over the pause button incase they go and so something stupid or random before I notice they have finished lol. During working or sleeping hours, I pass the time by checking on thier careers, happiness points, relationships etc...or going for a loo break myself lol. Its no big deal to me really.

Things that bug me;

When Sims cross paths it would be much better if they just went around eachother instead of standing there tapping their feet like lemons for god knows how long!

Thats really the only thing that bugs me!

To summarise, it rocks

I have a top spec MAC and the game crashes, I am very annoyed. It also keeps saying my disc is unauthorised even though it registered fine and has let me upload and download as well as getting my sim points. I have not played any unauthorised copy like everyone thinks it is and CS reckon its something do do with my flash player, I updated it and its still not fixed.

For god sakes, speed 3 IS THE SAME AS SPEED 4. It's not a bug or a glitch or something they forgot to include, THEY DO DIFFERENT THINGS.

The speeds being the SAME is not the problem, and it is a bug! It is not that 3 and 4 are the same, it is that on my game and few other peoples game NONE of the speeds change AT ALL! My speed 1 2 3 4 are all the same, they are all normal speed, not a bit faster, just normal time!

forgive me for sounding silly but is this how you type 'testingcheatsenabled true' with the brackets and all. I want to use it cause I'm sick of my sim sleeping even with the most expensive bed its driving me insane.

To sum up how i feel about the sims 3 - Love It
It is amazing!
I've been playing today for at least 10 hours straight and i can't get enough!
I love the little interactions, the openness of the game, building mode, create a style tool. All the little things make it good for me
The lighting effects look really fantastic.
The prima game guide has helped SO much!
If you haven't got it yet I suggest in buying it
It tells you everything you actually need to know

But theres a couple of bugs which could be fixed
The speed needs to be sorted out
Sometimes my sim also just stands there for like 30 sim minutes doing nothing before doing the action i asked them too
And sometimes the game freezes for no entire reason

Will 'testingcheatsenabled true' slow down the game? I want to use it but scared to.

I've played it a little more today, and I'm enjoying it

My Sims are now married (finally) and have a baby boy called Aaron and are expecting another!

Well...

1. I've had the issue with speed settings that many others have had. Practically no difference between slow and ultra speed. Makes bedtime and at work very boring.

2. I had a probable glitch, so far only with the first sim I made (it didn't happen with my second), which meant when he changed his outfit for whatever reason, it just became a random outfit. For example, when I sent him to bed he'd change into his formal, or going to work in swimsuit.

Edit: Found out it was not a glitch.

3. When signing up to the Sims 3 community, it wouldn't accept this persona, and I had to chomp the spaces out of my name. Makes it quite confusing with different logins, but not the end of the world.

But overall, I'm loving the Sims 3! Well done to all at EA.

Did your first sim have the insane or inappropriate traits? One of those (can't remember which one) will mean your sim will change into random outfits.

After nearly three solid days of play, I have no clean dishes, an empty fridge, and pressure sores!
So, here are the results of the West of Scotland jury........... oops, sorry, wrong show..........

Likes

1.Zooming backwards and forwards across the neighbourhood from one family member to the next - that is a great feature!
2.Going walking/jogging around the streets and paths - nice feature, though would like to be able to set 'automatic' as walk and not run.
3.Not having to go with a sim when they go to a community lot - one sim went fishing but I stayed with the other sim in their house and got little pop-ups about how the fishing trip was going.... or not!
4.The new interactions - they are superb as the conversation alters as your sims begins to learn more about the person they are talking to.
5.Both neighbourhoods look good and nicely laid out although as I get further into the game I may see if I can tweak some of the layout - unfortunately I can't see it at it's best as I have a bottom end graphics card, but the games plays well so at the moment it's ok.
6.There's more furniture etc than I expected - curtain choice is still bad!
7.CAS - fantastic! what more can I say
8.CAST - looks a great tool but as I mentioned above I'm not seeing it at it's best.

Dislikes

I feel some things have taken a backward step to the original sims-

1.Feeding and changing babies - the bottle magically appears again, no proper nappy changing, no bathing of babies or toddlers. Why did they stop that?!
2.No interaction with the maid - how can you persuade her/him to do a better job except by a bonus!
3.Likewise, toddlers can't ask for attention/food from the babysitter.
4.The animation for getting in their own cars and on bikes - I mentioned this in another thread that it is bad. A true backward step.

Other dislikes

5.The clock speed is not nearly fast enough overnight or when everyone is at work - there's a limit to the number of time you can tour the neighbourhood to get the layout in your head.
6.Not having my neighbourhood populated with spinning plumbobs - I'm afraid to try another family in case my current one moves away! We could do with a way of identifying families that have to remain in the game from the itinerant population.

I'm off to wash my dishes, restock my fridge and buy a pressure relieving cushion ready for this afternoon...........

im loving the game my laptop failed on the cpu on can i run it i only have 2gh but the game is running great on high settings graphics are great no lagging no crashing.

i love the semless neighbourhoods and how it does take a while for ur needs to go down u can do alot more.

i love the graphic and how the sims look so much real

worst is the lack of content and i havent got used to that do it ur self style.

speed is far to slow it should be alot quicker get bored watching them sleep.

but overlall its a great game dont have many complaints about it.

i also havent had any bugs yet.
