Mines is very slow. I have everything set to low and all I seem to get is lag. Take 5 minutes to play 1 minute of sim time... Very dissapointed.

Bug Found : My teen sim was arrested from being out after curfew and disappeared - literally - from my game. So, this definitely needs to be fixed because he was my favorite sim in the game thus far

I haven't seen any ghosts, no mater how many times I go to the cemetery. Hm. Anyone know about that?

I've seen loads of ghosts, but like with Mrs Crumplebottom's husband or whatever I tried taking his grave to the science building but there was no option to turn him into a playable ghost or whatever :/

They normally come out of their graves at 11pm and onwards and they just float around and warp themselves into objects making them float and all that.. then they go back in their graves when the sun starts to rise which is about 5am.

Hm, thank you. I think I'll check it out! Hey, do all newly-dead Sims get their graves sent to the cemetery? Because I can't find any of my sims' graves -- and I can't find Mr. Crumplebottom's! D=

you have to wait for a opportunity card from the science lab. it will say stuff about turning the urn into a playable ghost. <:

When playing chess, another sim can not just join play, i find this a little annoying, as i used to use chess to bulid relationships as well as logic in the sims 2.

Again the ultra speed thing is annoying that it doesnt work, when i played at the hands on day in march that option was fantastic

I really likely everything else though

Default The sims3

i think its pretty terrible! i mean, its like the sims team has gone back in time! its closer to the sims1 than the sims2. i might even take it off and reupload the sims2. The sims3 is dark and dismal. Create a sim is good, but neighbourhoods are SO sims1. and when you move them in, the houses are always dark and no paint can lighten a room. Babies are worse than ever. They have gone back in time with Babies and toddlers too. and sim actions! the actions that sims make are awful. The furnature is just a very small selection from the sims2, none of it looking very appealing. testingcheatsenabled cheats are completely absent, and the cheat box has decided to go back in time also and look just like the sims1.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE MONEYGRABBING PEOPLE!?!
i mean, i am a HUGE fan of the sims. I always have been, i have got every single expansion pack for both sims1 and sims2. i was totally addicted. but now im like doubting this company, they seem to be doing a half arsed job. its like they couldnt be bothered anymore, so they'd make a big hype over something utterly awful, get people to buy it, and still get all this cash for something so terrible. this game cost me £34. i dont know what that is in dollars. but its a fair amount. i am appaled at the sims company and i might demand a retraction. sorry for talking for so long, but honestly! how can the company DO this? xx

Paint can't lighten up rooms in Sims 2 either, you need lights or windows just like in real life. Also there were no toddlers in Sims 1 so I don't understand when you mean by back in time and the cheat box is alot better because if you accidently make it go big by using a wrong cheat you dont need to clear, expand then exit it, just press enter, then next time it goes back to normal.

OK, I've finally had some time to play a little and here are my first impressions...

Yes, ultra speed could be faster. I understand that they may have intended for it to be the same speed as number 3 and then go back to normal time once that action has ceased. But if we want to get to the end of a certain action, then we want it to happen as quickly as possible.

I'd like kitchen counters and kitchen islands to be able to mesh. I'd really like a breakfast bar at the end of some counters that would be usable for dishwashers and trash compactors.

Love the quarter squares for placement of objects but it doesn't seem to work for placing doors and windows, these only seem to be able to fit to the original grid...unless I've missed something, like a button I need to press? I'd also like to be able to build the walls on the half way grid as well.

Loving that mirrors now reflect the wall that's in front of them, even when that wall is down.

Really love CAST. I didn't realise till about half an hour ago that you could also just drag one colour from a style you'd previously created onto an item and a different box pops up asking which portion of the item you want painted that colour. So instead of having to drag a whole scheme onto an item you can just do one colour so they're a perfect match. (Reading that back, it doesn't make much sense but I know what I mean )

Love the sunrise and sunset, and especially the stars.

The things I don't like...

All the sims look a bit dumpy. It would be very hard to create a sim that looks tall and elegant (yes I know they're all the same height, but if you get the proportions right they coild be made to "look" taller). The faces and shoulders are very wide.

There are some things lacking, like clothing styles, hair styles and better looking make-up, but I think we all have to remember that we're probably used to playing with a bajillion downloads, so playing a vanilla game is obviously going to seem a bit limited.

All in all, I'm pretty impressed. The thing I'm most excited about is now making just a single sim and seeing how far I can get them, and how far their influence spreads across the neighbourhood, like how many kids they have and what families they marry into and everything.

Edit: I was one of those people who, for Sims 2, had to turn off shaders because of the BSOD that plagued the NVIDIA cards. I'm very happy to report that I can now see the effects on the water, the fish in the ponds and a lot more detail in just about everything else. I really hope EA and NVIDIA keep this up and don't break it with any of the expansions!!

it works for me; i never used cheats for ts2 EVER but i've found i have to use 'testingCheatsenabled true' then slide the metres on my sims' mood, otherwise i'd spend the whole game sending them to the toilet and the 'fridge because their moods plummet so quickly... i agree the graphics are more reminiscent of sims1 as well, i also hate the green background on the sims' thumbnails on the control panel, it hurts my eyes

another thing: i read someone on here mentioned spelling errors and whether they'd be able to fix them with a patch. another irksome error is that under writing actions on the computer one of the options is 'write nonfiction novel'... well that's a contradiction in terms...

I noticed the eye dropper tool last night and thought that was a handy feature. When i was trying to make a house from TV last night, i forgot the hex code for a shade of green i made, thats when the eye dropper tool came and helped me!

Speed setting aren't that good, 3 and 4 are the same, which makes the workday and nights seem so long.
Also, I can place windows and wall lamps on the same space... I am sure that isnt supposed to be like that?
I also have some neighbours that I visited, they have 2 babies, but haven't bought anything at all - not even cribs or stuff... Its free will and stuff, so if they can have babies, then they can buy baby stuff right?

I read somewhere you have to wait for them to call you on the phone and ask if you want them brought back as ghosts

I haven't really had much time to play and get everything straight in my head but according to the booklet that comes with the disk it appears to show that 3 is the fastest speed and 4 is that fast speed but only for the current action that your Sim is doing and I guess then it cuts back once they are done.

Default TS3 For Life!!!

Okay, so i bought Sims 3 at Thursday and I spent like three days playing it now... And I LOVE IT!!!! So Much!
At first I was almost afraid to buy it, because of all the negative reactions on the internet, but then I was like: for like 10 years I'm in love with the Sims, so why wouldn't I buy it? I bought it, and it was the best choice ever!

First I started with Create A Sim, and it is so much better! You can change every little detail! I believe I spend an hour to make my first sim, something that has never happened to me before!

Also Create A Style is amazing... I mean: you can change EVERYTHING! And creative me likes that very much!

Trait system is amazing and it makes everything so funny! My sim with the neat trait only wants to clean everything... And my flirty sim just started kissing her neighbour mister Andrews, when his wife was standing right next to them! And she wasn't even really angry!

So, my conclusion is! Sims 3 isn't bad, it's totally great!
Best game ever!

With this thread I want to start giving more positive reactions! No complaining, but just telling what it is you like in the game! So, change the world into a positive place, start here!
