I think that the create a style tool is really good when you get used to it, as is the open neighbourhood where you can visit anywhere in the neighbourhood. I'm also really liking the Opportunities you get, they're a really nice and fairly easy way of earning money for my sims.

-----

Possible glitch below....
One thing I noticed today though, my sim appears to have started to continually learn the cooking skill, not that I'm complaining , but I didn't think it's normal to learn the cooking skill in your sleep....

That glitch is a bit of a cheat, but better that kind of glitch than one that really messes up the game

1) you can sack them, then the cleaning company sends someone else. It happened to me too, you can keep sacking them untill you get a good one.

2)update your video card driver

seeds, you can find them usually in the parks laying around on the ground. there are some lime and apple trees in the central park. you can harvest them and then plant the lime(or apple) near your house. Then from time to time you have to give em water and weed them. Just as in real life amigo. hehehehe

About the gameplay, every sims except mine never learn more skill, promote, or have any new relationships. They standing still in their house, or just hanging around all the time, without doing anything. Then what the point the whole neighbourhood grow up with my sims?

If that thing about the skills is true, then that sucks! I haven't gotten to trying to find that out yet. I was just trying to perfect one of my sims(father and son) and I was really successful, but then the father died and by that I lost my chef and very successful writer so now I'm left with the son being a fairly good painter, being business partner in 3 businesses and owning one. Now I am going to try to find a girlfriend. hehehe

You can do this when you press the maginifiying glass at the top i think. Sorry not much detailed but i kinda forgot where abouts im going on the game in a min anyways ahaha
Thank you, but I don't think so. I always use the custom adjustment, and that's why I wonder why I can't adjust those options anymore. And, I don't know why, but all the sims in The sims 3 looked old and a bit fat. When I try to creat young and thin girl, they all turn in to some 30-year-old lady. I hate that.

I've just got said game, and the only real thing I'm truly annoyed about is EA's adorable move to make a lot of pretty standard items "buyable" from their website. Nice job milking the profits.

Only person you impressed was Yahtzee.

Other than that, gameplay would be better if I had forked out for a not-as-powerful NVidia rather than my lovely ATI card x] Still, all games are like that. Found it a bit confusing to start with though, using neighbourhood mode. I wasn't sure how to build houses on lots for ages.

Oops - posted this in another thread before seeing this one.

Things I think are missing/wrong in the game.

1. If you have been told about a sims favourite food, music, or colour, when you are chatting. It should show in the dropdown box when you are interracting with that sim. Yhis would help with the 'cook favourite meal' for instance.

2. When in the bookstore there should be a marker against books you have already read - so that you do not accidently buy them again.

3. Being able to use a car you have bought. My sim was a Rock Star, but even if it clicked on the car and told it to take the sim somewhere - the lux. limo turned up.

4. In services phone list - being able to employ a gardener (like the cleaning service, but every 7 days instead of every day).

I don't think that needed, cause now only the plant which you plant by yourself grown, not all the plant from build mode, so we can decorate our garden without worry about it turn into a desolate garden anymore. I think that's great! If you don't have time, just don't plant anything. If the gardener come only once in 7 days, it's not enough, cause apple, potato, and so on grow up everyday.

I didn't check out all the house, but a sim that I created and left her live by herself, she never even changed her clothes. All she what she do is standing in her house, doing nothing. And suddenly, a baby appear from nowhere in her house, lying on the floor all the time, without being fed, or held up... Furthermore, even though my sim was promoted for many time, but his boss still be the same. Sims' skill may be increase, cause they can go to somewhere and fish, or play chess, but I don't thing they ever do that for their job. And I don't thing they can love someone, or marry someone by themself, too.

overall i give the game 9/10 amazing game, big improvement on TS2, must buy.

couldnt give a 10 due to few glitches/bugs/lag which do disrupt the game, car not driving out of driveway, parking in town etc, lack of exciting things to do and features due to being a base game however still alot more than TS2 base game.

a few expansions and some glitches/bugs/lag fixes and i would without hesitation give this game 10/10

Good things...
-Love the ponds and water...looks sooo realistic!
-i have an actual gaming computer so i can have all the graphics on high and still runs as fast as it would on low settings, so all the detail is amazing! like the brick
-Love the terrain types (paths etc)
Love that you can get manicures/facials etc.

Bad things...
-Hate that you cant go into shops
-Would be better if there was more interations for babies and toddlers.
-i dont know if im just stupid but i cant put a platform thing in my house eg.so my stairs can go round
-Alsoo not alot of furniture/hairstyles/not very nice clothes tbh! hopefully the 1st expansion pack will be more stuff!

Alsoo...if people are saying its slow/laggy its your computer not the game!!

Love the sims 3! xx

Id like to be able to customize parties a little more. Id like to have the option to suggests what gifts they bring to the party (like a drop down box with selections like, kids, household, hobbies or food.) And it would be nice if we could choose to have a destination party at ANY community lot especially funerals at the graveyard.

I would also like a pop-up that tells of major events (such as birth, death, marriage) that happens to any close family member (mum, dad, bro, sis, daughter, son) which says something like sim name has died, born, got married, they have invited you for support, celebrate etc.

I think it would also be good to edit relationships when you merge a family - say you make a family and you forget to add a brother, you make them in create a sim and then you merge them with the family but you cant edit the relationships to tell the game who the person is.

I did not know that. As I was spending lots of time tending the garden I had planted, I did not try putting in plants from build mode. I assumed they would take even more time to keep alive.

As well as that, you should be able to tell at a glance whether someone is a young adult/adult/whatever before you start a relationship with them, so that you don't have a situation where one grows into an elder while the other is just an adult. Also, cutscenes for birth/marriage and first kiss should still be in there. While on the subject of first kiss, the game no longer differentiates between first kiss ever and first kiss with a new partner. They're two entirely different things - a sim's first kiss ever is a very important moment in their life. The cutscene from Sims 2 was perfect, why did they get rid of all of them?

I agree about losing the cutscene for whoo-hoo, because that just got boring, but not all the other ones. Whoo-hoo's cutscene had to go because that happened often, but for things that happen rarely like weddings, birth, first kiss and so on, all need cutscenes.

I love the new way how sims lose weight.

I had Dorie Hart do a cardio session until fatiguised, she went to sleep and when she woke up she was thin!

Ah, you remind me one thing: there isn't the "give sims present" or so anymore. Some sims have a lot of interesting thing in there inventory, but they can't give people as a gift anymore. Why?

Yeah, and one more thing I thought about before: why sims don't have any feeling for their first woo-hoo? I think that's an important event too.

Ah, I want the piano and the violin back! Cause I want my sims be classical musicians, not rock stars! Though I think if there're more than one musical instrument, the skill should be seperated. Good at piano does not mean good at guitar, right?
