Default Mulitplayer expansion idea

I know that the Sims is a single player game, and that it would be largely impossible to make it multiplayer - plus I dont think it should be multiplayer.

However, it would be cool to have an expansion that adds a multiplayer location, similar to how downtown was added in sims 2, where you could take your sims for a little mulitplayer outing if you wanted.

Your thoughts?

There has been more than I can count threads made about this subject, and it never ends well. Most of the people here don't want a Sims to be Multiplayer. Though, some do, but if you want a game that's multiplayer, play Second Life, IMVU, WoW, or anything else like that. Sims in a Single player experience. Even if it's an Expansion, I don't like the idea, and that's just my personal oppinion.

They had a Sims Online back in the beginning, and it ended very badly. So I highly, highly doubt they'll make something that failed another time.

I dont play multiplayer games because I dont enjoy them, so I am certianly NOT suggesting the sims becomes mulitplayer. An expansion that provides one small area for multiplayer sessions would satisfy both camps because if you dont want it, dont buy the expansion But it would offer others the chance to socialise with other sims and strengthen the community feel.

I like sims how it is! I’m not sure if I would play The Sims 2 or The Sims 3 online. But your suggestion is very interesting! I would buy such EP even if I would not go often in “online” town with my sim. To be honest, I would more like to play Sims LAN with few of my friends. But again such option should be not mandatory.

I think an idea of a town which is multiplayer is much better than the whole game being multiplayer. I could see how it would be fun but personally prefer it to be single player.
