---Create Your Own Sims 3 Promotional Poster---

Alongside my "Eye-Spy Sims 3 Promotion Game

" thread, I randomly came up with the idea of this thread.

This is just a bit of fun and completely unofficial - although who knows, maybe EA may like a few and decide to use them.

My challenge to you all is to design some posters or billboards to promote the release of Sims 3 and post them on this thread (so everyone can enjoy them). There are no major rules apart from they have to be bold, fresh, imaginative and your own work.

I will be the judge of this minor competition and will decide upon the top 3 posters or billboards on the 1st May 2009 (with the deadline being 1st May 2009 17:30 GMT) and will state the winners (along with pictures of their entries) in the post below, so go ahead and get creative and good luck!

EDIT: Almost forgot to mention that there can be 3 entries per person in this competition

I am marking this 15 minutes earlier then I said...and I'm not going to lie to you as to why that is...it's because I'm bored and thought I'd take a break from playing COD4 for a bit.

Thankyou for all of your wonderful entries - I loved all of them! I was amazed at the diversity of designs recieved during this competition and the interest in the thread itself.

I had a hard time judging the top 3 as all were so good, however below is the list I have come up with as the top 3 so enjoy.

1st Place - He672
With a bold entry that was clear in detail, displaying all the information without overloading the brain with infomation, I award He672 first place.
Using a greyscale background with the coloured pictures and logos made them stand out that much more and I thought it to look very professionally made. Well Done! (below is He672's entry)

2nd Place - Dienamickz
Closely followed was Dienamickz with his entry. Using a wide array of effects, Dienamickz has pulled off a well made poster that emphasises the idea of a Sims community by using various characters from the Sims 3 series on his poster.
This very nearly won 1st place however it was slightly let down by the clarity of the font used (which I felt may not be clear enough for passers by - unlike He672's font which was bold, large and clear enough to see whilst walking along in a busy street).
In addition to this some of the cropping of pictures weren't as good as they could have been leaving white patches around the hair line of Brianna. (below is Dienamickz's entry)

3rd Place - JohnnyDeppLuva
Coming in at 3rd place is our trusty friend JohnnyDeppLuva giving us a poster, which although simple in design and layout, accomplishes the task set in an effective manor - well done.
The only downfall of this poster was the look was slightly less professional then that of Dienamickz and He672 as you did not soften the edges to the cut outs (found to the right of the poster), however regardless of this, I still feel you did very well. (below is JohnnyDeppLuva's entry)

A special thanks to those who took part and well done to the top 3, especially He672 who came 1st.

Okay, seeming as there are no takers so far, here is a little something I whipped up (which will not be included in the competition, but will hopefully give you an idea of what can be done)

It's a good idea, but as CaecusLacrima says, the forum is quiet at the moment. Plus it takes time to make a poster so people may take time to post their offerings

What r the rules??? I would like 2 join... but i am not that sure of how to make the posster? i hope i am not waisting ur time but could u explain it... it sounds really fun.

Basically you have to create a Sims 3 poster or billboard to promote the release date of the game. It has to be made by you but can be created by using a photoshop program such as GIMP, Adobe Photoshop or even Paint and mixing a few pictures up to make a poster. If you still dont understand, PM me and we can saught this out instead of cluttering up the thread

Already made 2 sims 3 posters and about 7 different sigs

Again click on the image and view it as it looks better that way

I only have one more entry left

I'm gonna take my time with my last one and make it perfect - After all I have until 1st May =]
