Default The Sims 3 Business

Here are some of my suggestions on how to improve on the business expansion pack for TS3 (if they decide to carry it on from TS2)

Expansion Pack Name Idea: TS3 Enterprise

Suggestions:

1) More types of businesses e.g
Bank: This type of business would not be available for your sim to run, a bank would be to provide your sims with loans when they are low on money or they would like to buy something like a car (cars should be more expensive by the way, its too easy to get one, there's no challenge in it). Banks could also provide mortgages and insurance in case something like a fire or theft happens.

Car Dealership: This Type of business could be run by both computer and your sim. I am hoping that in TS3 there will be a variety of new cars that are expensive because then you actually make a decent profit when you sell one, and something like a car would be harder to sell to a customer because of its price. In reality car dealerships only get a fraction of customers compared to e.g a hairdresser, but it would make it more special when a customer came in.

Real Estate: This type of business could be both run by computer and sims. You could create a house that you would like to sell in your shop and select it from a menu of available houses on the market (your sim would buy the house and sell it for a profit later). A picture of the house would be hung in the window for customers to view.

2) When you are running traditional shops I would like to see more of a profit. I could probably earn more money with an actual job than in a few days in my shop (hairdresser/restaraunt/baker). I would like to be able to have more customers in a bigger shop and charge more money without customers complaining (maybe unlocked/achievement) so that my sim would benefit from staying up all day (in a standard sims job you earn more for less hours. This is not right).

3) I would like to be able to customise my shop more. A sign with the chosen name of my company and maybe a few logo templates by EA could be used to spruce up the sign too.

4) This is the most important suggestion in my opinion. I would like the way customers buy items to be changed. The traditional way in TS2 was a vertical bar above the customers head that displayed how much they were interested in the item. I hate this as I always choose the wrong option when it comes to persuading customers to buy an item. I want this EP to be realistic and in reality a lot of customers know what they are going to a shop to buy so they walk in, maybe ponder about which brand of item would suit them and buy it, they don't stand around observing it and going "hmmm".

I have many more suggestions and will probably write more depending on the feedback of this thead so feel free to comment on them.

Thank You

Great idea's there. I'd love to have the option to add your own sign to your shop make it more realistic and what not!.

Well want to see this EP back in TS3 and hopefully some decent changes (Y).

I agree, you have some really good ideas here. It would be nice to see some of them in the game.

They are some good ideas. Personally i never had too much of a problem with people buying items but i'd love there to be a bank for loans, starting off with $20.000 simoleans without having to pay it back always annoyed me too. I would like to get more of a profit from selling houses, like you do from selling a business.

I also like the real estate idea. I want to make more money when I run my stores. i think houses would be great fun selling. Sometimes I just go onto the sims to create houses so to make my family money from doing this would be great

In OFB my sims' needs would go down too quickly and the staff were a pain they were always unhappy, so I relied on maxmotives completely.

Maxmotives is a cheat which when typed in fills in all the needs of every sim on the lot to full. So it 'maxes' the motives

I do like that bank idea. I could never get a decent business off the ground when I played so I often neglected my buisness EP. My boyfriend however had a sim that owned half his neighbourhood, a massive mansion over flowing with stuff and he never used the motherlode cheat once.

Of course his sim also was top of the criminal career track so he got a large slice of his revenue from that...

Although he did have an interesting idea for opening an estate agents on sims two; he was going to buy up empty plots and attempt to sell the deeds to people. I don't know if that actually would have worked though but he tried to make his own little office for it and everything. Thought I'd share that little tidbit to see if anyone had tried it.
