Discussion ideas

Here are a few discussion ideas:
  • Where are you buying The Sims 3 from?
  • Will you preorder?
  • Will you buy from your local shop?
  • Will you camp outside the shop overnight?
  • Will you buy the official Prima guide?
  • Will you join in with the countdown using all you fingers and toes, and those of your family members, and those of your neighbours too.

Let's keep positive and countdown together folks.

Great sticky thread! I love it! Well I'll start first I guess!
I'm buying TS3 in Zagreb and my game store called Algoritam which is the exlusive distributer of EA games for Croatia, so that means I'm not preordering, I'm buying from my local shop!
I won't camp out overnight because I think the interest won't be that big in Zagreb for it as it will be in other places but I'll definitely be in front of the store an hour or so before it opens just to be on the safe side!
I'm defintely getting the Prima Guide if my store will have it!
Yes I'll definitely join in using all I can!
And I just want to add that I want to get the CE and hope it will be available in my store!

I'll shall pre-order mine, just the standard edition but I shall have the Prima guide as well, I may well not read any of it until after I've played for a few hours though.

I plan on reading the guide during the installation, or at least flipping through it! How come you're not going to get the CE?

I will need to buy a new PC before I can play The Sims 3 But I shall do that in good time and be sure to have a copy of the game and a trusty Prima Guide to help me through. I have all the Prima Guides for The Sims 2 and they are great for reference.

So you not sending out hubby to camp outside your nearest games store then? He'll be so disappointed I'm sure.

Lol! I didn't know Aurora had a hubby although I might have suspected it! I would definitely send mine but he would never agree to go so I'm afraid that shivering in the night's cold for a Sims game will always be only in my department!

I, like Nicky, will be needing to buy a new laptop before I can buy The Sims 3, sadly.

I'll probably be pre-ordering from Play.com closer to the release date.

I did consider downloading it from EA Store but I rather like having the case and everything.

Might get the CE just for the USB stick. It looks rather awesome.

That's one of the biggest reasons why I want the CE, to get the plumbob USB and of course the in-game vintage sports car!

It's just the USB flash drive for me - which seems a little stupid as I'm paying an extra £20 to get it - but I'll probably have a play around with the car too.

I guess it'll be nice to own the CE, though.

I definitely want to own the CE as you put it! I just love the Sims and I want to get the best version of the game from the 3rd generation!

Yep, I think that's pretty much how I feel about it too.

I'd probably get it even without the USB flash drive, as awesome as it is...

Me too! Just because it is a better and more complete version of the base game!

Oh no. I would never be forgiven for that.

Those of you who pre-order, where do you usually use for this? Online stores or high street?

I've used CDWow, Amazon and Tesco so far - both CDWow and Tesco arrived late, whereas Amazon arrived on the day.

I'm using GAME for the CE.

I've never pre-ordered so I really can't say but GAME and Amazong seem reliable to me and if I were to pre-order I would do it from there. That is if they delivered to Croatia!

I wonder if The Sims 3 will have a little computer in the house where your sims can play The Sims 2.

And then when The Sims 4 comes out, your sims will have the option of getting The Sims 3, and so on...

We would become almost like beta testers for our own sims then.

I would love to "camp-out" but i cant

What will the CE get more? I might get it just because its the "Collectors Edition"

I think camping out would be pretty fun.

But I'm camping the weekend after, so I might give the idea a miss.
