Awww, too bad about your form, but buying it in the store is also great! I'm getting my game from a store as well!

I think it is, but that's just my opinion and I am buying it if it will be available in my store. It basically is a complete, in depth, detailed guide of every aspect of the game written on over 200 pages! I guess you'll have to decide for yourself is it worth the $13 it cost (I think it's that much)!

That depends on your point of view really. I always find them useful, particularly for the base game, as they have lots of little bits of information in them that are not widely evident. Some of it eventually finds it's way onto the internet via forums and fansites, usually quite a while after the game has been out though. I also like having the paper guide in my hand which I can put my feet up and read to find out all the ins and outs, rather than having to search the internet each time.

I always do the same thing. I like having the guide as a reference it is much easier than trying to find information on the internet especially for a new game that has just been released.

If I get a game that has a guide-book I always get it. Sometimes it's not worth it but with Sims it is worth it.

So, I'm probably going to pre-order the CE and the Prima guide when I'm ready.

I never got it for any game that it didn't come with originally! This will be my first bought prima guide! And it's totally worth the money, in my opinion!

That is why I'm so glad that we mostly always agree with each other on the forum. I mean all of us in general!

yes, I am glad for that too. I am a pretty peace loving person and dislike confrontation in any form.

Well, to get back on topic. Do you guys think more people will buy the CE or just the base game?

I think the base game will ultimately be more popular - but I'm also expecting a lot of people to be buying the CE, particularly those who have been playing since the release of the original The Sims.

I've been playing since TS2 first came out so I missed TS1 entirelly but I love the game so much that I couldn't resist getting the best version of the game, that is to say the CE! I just hope my store in Zagreb will have it!

Updated the countdown - just 97 days to go.

I'd would think most folks would go for the standard one, purely as it's cheaper.

I'm using my Game points too, although I shall order the Sims 3 and the Prima guide together, I have enough points to cover the guide.

I agree with Becky, I think that people who have been playing the Sims since the original version will want the CE. I have been, and I have pre ordered the collectors edition.

Wow, great! I wish I had points but I will get a 10% student discount when I buy the CE and Prima Guide from my store! I guess it comes down to basically the same!
