For the processor you need anywhere from a 2.0 for windows XP
to a 2.4 for windows vista and you have a 1.6, which is pretty
close to a 2.0, so i think it would play okay on windows xp.

Question: What do you mean by windows for OS?
What is your windows operating system? Is it
windows xp or vista?

Continued:

Your chipset is good. You have more than enough memory.
The only problem i could see arising is with your processor.

You MIGHT have to UPGRADE your processor.

Here are the minimum sims 3 requirements:

It will work if your processor is upgraded.

Let me see if i can find out how it would run, or if it would run on
that processor.

You're going to have to update your processor. It'll run very slowly if you
don't or probably won't work at all.

Your computer, or looks more like a laptop, fails for the Sims 3, it would probably be better buying a new system, as they are cheep, and you could get a computer that could run the Sims 3 for $600 plus (aussie dollars) so that's probably about 400 euro. Computer these days, if you shop right can be cheap.

That's my suggestion anyway.

I am guessing your laptop is one of the new netbooks. It is possible it could work but the bad thing is it will be immensly slow and can even crash your computer. The ram is not enough to be able to make this game satifactory. For the game You need at least 6.5 GB of storage and a further 1gb for customazation.

If you need further assistance click on this link www.systemrequirementslab.com This can really help you see whether you can play the game but i am afraid they have not put the sims 3 on there yet but will soon.

Thank You

The Aspire 01 is not designed to run games, and The Sims 3 definitely won't work. Also, there's a very good reason they come with Linux pre-installed - the hard drive is tiny (to minimise costs) and Linux is a very small and efficient OS. The 01 is designed for a very specific purpose, which is to be an ultra-portable and affordable netbook. I don't recommend that you try to use it for anything else than browsing the net and word processing.
In all honesty, I would put the netbook back onto Linux and use it for what it's designed for if I were you, and then look at the possibility of getting a new system (a desktop if you have the space for one, as you can get a better spec for less money in a desktop) for The Sims 3.
