Thanks Rohannnn I have above minimum specs now apart from the processor speed, for laptop's it's 2.4ghz? My laptop processor speed is 2.20ghz but with 3GB RAM i shouldn't notice any lag?

The minimum specs are a 2.4GHz Pentium 4, but newer processors like Intel Core 2 or any recent AMD (I'm guessing you have one of these) are much more efficient. For example I think a 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo is just as fast as a 2.4GHz Pentium 4, maybe even faster.

Intel® Core 2 Quad Q8200 processor 2.33GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 4MB Cache

This is the processor spec of my new computer. Should TS3 work with this processor even though it's a bit smaller than 2.4Ghz?

Wow, I'm glad I didn't buy the laptop with the media accelerator. Well is there any particular computer you could suggest me to buy to play the sims 3 game? My laptop I have righ now is an Inspiron 1526 w/the ATI X1200. I was speaking to a Dell agent and they were helping me build a laptop, I told her the requirements I had for it and why I was buying a new laptop and this is what she built for me.

- Studio 1537, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, 2.53GHz, 1066Mhz, 6M L2Cache
- 4GB, DDR2, 800MHz 2 Dimm
- 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450

Would this laptop be better? The ATI Radeon HD 3450 is one of the supported cards I seen from the Sims 3 system minimum requirements so I'm guessing it should be fine right? What should I expect from a laptop like this playing the Sims 3 game? I'm sorry if I keep asking so many questions but I just want to make the right purchase in a laptop and if I am going to be paying all that money I want to make sure it runs the Sims 3 at least sorta smooth.

We've now been provided with some slightly more in depth requirements:

THE SIMS 3 MINIMUM HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

FOR WINDOWS XP

Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
FOR WINDOWS VISTA

Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
At least 6.5 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB additional space for custom content
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
For computers using built-in graphics chipsets, the game requires at least:

Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA X3000 or above.
2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
0.5 GB additional RAM
SUPPORTED VIDEO CARDS

NVIDIA GeForce series

FX 5900, FX 5950
6200, 6500, 6600, 6800,
7200, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950
8400, 8500, 8600, 8800
9600, 9800, GTX 260, GTX 280

ATI Radeon™ series

9500, 9600, 9800
X300, X600, X700, X800, X850
X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950
2400, 2600, 2900
3450, 3650, 3850, 3870,
4850, 4870

Intel® Extreme Graphics

GMA X3x00 series

Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but may run comparatively slower. Standalone cards that are installed in vanilla PCI slots (not PCIe or PCIx or AGP), such as some GeForce FX variants, will perform poorly. Intel integrated chipsets featuring underclocked parts will not perform adequately.

Integrated chipsets such as the ATI Xpress and the NVIDIA TurboCache variants will have low settings selected, but should run satisfactorily.

Please note that attempting to play the game using video hardware that isn't listed above may result in reduced performance, graphical issues or cause the game to not run at all.

The NVIDIA GeForce FX series is unsupported under Vista.

I have an Intel Pentium D Processor 3.0 GHz and an ATI Radeon X1600 PRO. Does this mean I can run it? I hope I can!

Hmmmm, I'm not sure if I'll be able to run it I think the processor isn't good enough, which is stupid seeing how I only bought my laptop two months ago and it has the latest software and hardware

The Geforce graphic card is very low, post up some more specs.

Not sure if I can run it on my laptop atm and I can't afford to update my home computer. I will just have to try when I buy (late next year probs cos I'll be skint) and if not I may be able to persuade my parents to update my laptop for me. I want to be able to try TS3 now, even though I'll be keeping TS2 at home

You have got 4 processors running at 2.33GHz each
so to narrow it done, you've got 9.32GHz

so yeah should run it a piece a piddle =]

It doesn't quite work like that. But yes, that processor will be fine.

Default :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I can't run it
my pc is 4 years old and I only have 256MB RAM

my mum won't buy a new pc so I've waited 6months to find out I can't play it...

I have all the other requirements
but the RAM wasn't on the front of my pc
so I looked it up and found this link
which told me that I don't have enough RAM...

If you went into a coputer shop and asked them, I bet they would send someone to your house to install it for you. Either that or you would have to bring the computer in to them.
