Having 1GB of RAM taylor means that your PC will struggle to run it as VISTA takes lots of RAM just to run.
All your other specs are fine.
As for getting RAM etc, look for a local PC shop (not PC world!) and explain your problem, you will probably find they will sort it for you, its not a hard job, doesnt take long and you dont need to do nothing once the new RAM is in.

Is that clear enough for you fella?

Trying to help, but its hard to explain sometimes.

yeah i just dont like people doing what you done, went into both spec forms and saying that you can run it, i get angry at it because most people cant afford even a new pc atm because of the recession and your going on saying how well you can run it with your over the top pc. Oh and i didnt mean to offend you by saying your american, i have some american friends, it was just that ive noticed its all the americans that have the over the top computers.

Hope someone can help me. Looking to buy a new desktop to run The Sims 3, will this one be sufficient:
-AMD Phenom X4 Quad-Core 9500 Processor -3GB RAM -500 GB HDD -NVidia GeForce 8500 GT TurboCache 512MB -DVDRW Optical drive -Windows Vista Home Premium OS

As far as I know it is, it's the graphics card I'm unsure of?

200 pounds wont get you nothing that will play sims 3. 400 pounds would get you a decent desktop base unit with these specs:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2x2.6ghz)
4GB RAM
160GB Hard Drive
512MB GeForce 9400GT Graphics Card.

200 pound though, no chance.

everything is below the minimum so you would have to pay practically the same amount of money to upgrade it as a new pc would cost.
