I liked getting expansion packs for the sims 2 and would like to get expansions for the sims 3 also. However I do think that EA released way to many expansion packs for the sims 2

Of course we want, but adding little details to game from previous versions, make it better.

I really don't want to wait like 6 months after the games release to be able to go inside community buildings with my sims. That would suck big time

So, they can thought;
"... players hate that rabbit hole action, so we can make EPs to disappear them and it's sure they are gonna buy it..."

Yes of course they will make expansion packs. Look at the ammount of money they get from them. And I am convinced that one of the reasons they are having all community lots as rabbit holes in the original game is so that they can release a Nightlife style expansion pack. I suspect weather will also follow in an expansion pack.

I am sure Pets will be included because that is Rod's favorite expansion and it is the popular one too. I want different kinds of animals from mammals to reptiles.

I want a couple, but no where near the amount they have now for TS2. It's ridiculous, really.

I want original EPs too. I don't want an updated version of pets or Vacation. Something new, please.

I'd like expansions, yes.

Mainly due to the fact that the base game would take up soooo much space if everything was crammed onto it.

If it's all in expansions, we have to pay more, but we can uninstall / re-install at our leisure.

With the expansions it was just perfecting perfection, so i am all for the expansions, and if you uninstall all the expansions and just play the sims 2 it seems bland and boring and OMG just 1 phone!!!!!

hopefully the expansions are ways to make the game better for us, so they do what they can...
and its not a case of them making more money in any way possible

i heard in an interview or somewhere that they were hoping to make more smaller eps so that players could get exactly what they wanted in their games

They're obviously going to make expansions (and they should). How else would they make money?

I agree I liked getting expansion packs too; but I had to draw a line because it was getting a bit ridiculous with all the expansion and stuff packs. And with the wide variety of custom content there was never any need for me to buy stuff packs anyway.

I totally agree I played the sims 2 with seasons installed and I just couldn't imagin playing without it now. I think it should be in the base game and also I think it would be pretty odd to be able to grow your own fruit and veg without weather in the game.

Iirc I read that they are planning to make the actuall expansion packs smaller; with more of the content that players actually want.

I want original EPs too. I don't want an updated version of pets or Vacation. Something new, please.
Yeah I agree with you on this one. I think pets should be implemented into the base game.

I personally would rather have a few really good expansion packs with content that a lot of people would use. I mean there are the creatures that came with every expansion pack in the sims 2 series; but not everyone used these (not that I'm saying they should be scrapped just because I don't use them). But if your like me then you'll probably find yourself installing certain expansion packs because of the little things they add to the game that makes all the difference. Like with the sims 2 uni expansion pack if you didn't have it installed then you didn't have the extra life stage or the ability to use mobiles/ipods/handhelds ect.

I don't mind, if they do or don't. If they do then i think they should be combined, The sims 2 had way too many expansion packs. The stuff packs should be scrapped and either combined with expansion packs or be as downloadable FREE content.
