Don't ask me it might have been in a dream but i saw somewhere it is February the 14th. and if there is a delay, it will hope to be released no later than March the 15th.

From memory I think EA have released most of there expansion packs around first quarter of each year i.e March/April. However, the fact that EA have announced 2009 and not early 2009, mid 2009 or late 2009 says that even they are not sure. There is still a lot of information that has not been released yet, which tells me they are still deeply involved in programming. I would also think that EA would be reading these websites to see what people think and what they want.
My advice, if somthing is bugging you, say it now....before it does come out and you end up banging your head on your pc lol |

I think the reason for releasing the information back in March was too see how much interest it would generate.
Remember, up to 4 million people visit Sims support websites such as TSR each month. EA has to put out feelers to see what people want. Its actually great that EA made Sims 3 website and opened the forums as early as they have. What better way to find out what the fans want |

The Sims 3 In Development - News and Siteseeing
There's one more revelation from the Electronic Arts conference call today. During the Q&A session EA execs confirmed that development is underway on The Sims 3, the third game in the mega-selling people sim series. However the game is still a ways off as EA plans to release it during its fiscal 2009 year which begins on April 1, 2008. |

I think they're probably hoping to bring it out early-ish next year.
But saying 2009 gives them room to fix any last minute mistakes that pop up. To be honest, I'd rather it come out late 09 and run smoothly, rather than have it in early 09 glitching all over the place. |

I agree with the womble woman (couldn't be bothered checking ya name!) i'd rather get nit late and have NO glitches instead of 2 months after i get it another improved one comes out!
