The only problem with a height adjuster is the interactions like if your sim is kissing EA / Maxis would have to measure out the heights and them make an interaction such as crouching at exactly the right height to reach the other sims lips / cheek / nose

True, but how natural would that look if they could!
I really want different heights - if they keep on saying how we can recreate ourselves and family etc then they have to give us this. We will need some other way of telling ages though. Better details such as wrinkles on the face will help, but I can't see them going down the whole "Is she underage?" route of doubt. Maybe a little symbol next to their friend icon?

Nope. We've all got to wait until next year.

I was thinking this exact thing yesterday when I was making my new legacy sim.

I suppose adjustable heights might cause some problems with some of the interactions, such as kissing and hugging

It's been so long since i've played the Sims 2, I hadn't even noticed there was going to be a Sims 3.
-shakes head-

It should be great though, adjustable heights would be great. ^___^

I don't know, simmylovep. Probably not, since the whole ''seamless'' hood is a main feature of TS3.

What still confuses me is the terrible (IMO) looking graphics! There are plenty of other games with the most amazing graphics I've ever seen (take FFVersusXIII for example) - but TS3 looks a bit blocky, and a bit too cartoon-y. If they want to make it realistic, they should give it realistic graphics.

It just looks a bit too much like a cartoon.

There are some pretty good comparison pictures available from Snooty Sims via here (clicky) and here (clicky).

It certainly looks like an improvement over TS2 though.

Looks like the graphics have been sacrificed a bit because there are no loading screens, so the whole game will be streaming on-the-fly, like Burnout Paradise, for instance.

Still looks promising though.

I've got no complaint with TS2 graphics as they are now. Its the gameplay I'm more interested in...

They need to bend their bodies to each other

I still like the Sims 2 despite the screen shots but now that I think it is worth a try the Sims 3 will run side by side in my PC upon release. I don't want the Sims 3 installation to overwrite the Sims 2 ones.

Different heights would be good to see, instead of every sim the same, if you can change there weight why not make them truely unquie by having different heights. maybe the sims will bend to kiss

Can't you already change your Sim's height in TS2 using StretchSkeleton or something?

I'd like to have height adjustment included, but I can very easily see many problems that would arise.

Which is a shame.

I don't see how there would be too much of a problem with sims of different heights interacting. Children, teens and adults are different heights in TS2...

I love going out and entering clothes shops and such with my Sims, I'd hate to see them start dissapearing on me. I thought the idea on this game was that you can walk EVERYWHERE or ANYWHERE. Seems to me that feature might not be on here if you enter a shop..

I hope this may be false information or they scrap that idea!
i think we can enter the clothes shops, cafe, disco, store etc but we cant enter their working place. if it happening like what u say how we can customize the building or interact with the cashier, clothing booth etc

Back in 96 they said it would be impossible to have the sound of footsteps change depending on what material your character was walking on.

To discard a fundamental idea just because it's challenging is a terrible mentality to have. I think it's something that we should demand as it's one of the worst things about the currents sims.
