My house is already having a lot of Zenyattas. I mean, the first Zenyatta was ok, the second, yeah BUlalalaH! I got like 15 or more Zenyattas. I know it's because of the saltlick, but, I hope EA would do something about this.
Oh I'm sorry, ok, so Zenyattas are like mysterious magic gnome described below.

I had to google it ... after only getting the Pets Expansion yesterday i had not heard of them either - but they do sound cool, can;t wait to find one!
"A horse gnome. There is a chance this gnome will spawn whenever a horse licks a salt lick for 80 minutes. The chance increases by 0.2% for every 20 Sim minutes the horse licks the salt lick."

Not over spawning in the Sims 3, surely hahaha
Sorry but I can see a lot more issues like this coming as people play the game. How about trying a move to another lot to see if it will help, and bulldoze that lot and replace it? Could that that maybe help? I suspect it will just follow the horse though.

I believe the problem is that Zenyattas are spawned when the horses lick the saltlick, and they like to lick it a lot. I think they could tweak the probability and have it occur less often.

Maybe there's a mod in that. I haven't had time to do any mods recently but as soon as I can I'll have a look. Not everyone likes to use mods though

You also get one each time your horse wins a trophy . Selling them is fine for a while but quickly makes the game far too easy as you get approx 1000 simoleons for each one.
Once again Ea have gone over the top with something |

One of the things I don't think is fair in the game is that young adults go out and work and the parents get to keep the cash they make. I usually get them to collect from a money tree or something and pretend to myself it's money in the bank, to give them a stat up for a house when they get married. Maybe you could use some of these for that kind of thing.
I have to admit though, it's the ridiculous things like this that put me right off the game. Everything is done to overkill.

On the one hand, some things (eg the Zenyatta) need to be fairly regular so that the casual simmer who plays an hour or two a month gets to see them... but not so much that the hardcore simmers who play a couple of hours a week get overwhelmed. Other events are so rare that I've never seen them despite the fact I've been playing for years - meteor death (or death by flies in sims 2) for example. While it would get annoying to have a meteor crash down on my sims every couple of sim weeks, it's annoying that I've never experienced one naturally. |

I've never seen the meteor one or the satellite one.
My own opinion is that the open neighbourhood is a fail as we face these kinds of issues because of that. The problem is a simple one, the devs think something is cool or funny when they play it for the odd 15 minutes to test it, they don't do extended play so they don't see how annoying these features can be for the rest of us who play for longer. True confessions I don't even play Sims 3 for a couple of hours a week, it's more like a couple of hours a month except for CAW. I can easily play Sims 2 for several hours a night when time allows, and have played for 12 hours straight on many occasions.

the most i can play in a session in TS3 is about 2 hours before it starts acting up or saves fail and i have to exit without saving and restart or give up.
Sims 2 I regularly have all day sessions from 8 am till I give up at bedtime .I spend this time playing due to the fact i am housebound and unable to get out due to illness before people start being rude about how long i play for . The thing i noticed is that people moan about loading times in TS2 with each screen but what they conveniently forget is half that time of the loading screen was it saving the game first . Maybe that is why it is so much more stable without all the crashes Ts3 seems to be afflicted by . PS i have only ever had one meteor strike . Wierdly it was when my sim was sat outside the restaurant in Riverview having a meal and afterwards i could not clean all the mess up or go into the restaurant as some of the meteors landed where the restaurant rabbit hole was and could not be cleaned up, until i went into edit town mode and picked up the building first and then cleared them away , then replaced the building Last edited by julienrob2004; 09-11-2011 at 06:58 PM. |

julienrob2004. I started playing Sims 2 because I was in a wheelchair and couldn't get out much. I also have played from morning till bedtime. I remember more than one occasion I'd go to bed then think about Sims and get back up for another wee session. I've played all through the night before and only realised it when the alarm went off in the morning. I have MS, so there have been many times when all I had to keep me going was Sims 2. Thank goodness I don't have to rely on Sims 3, I kept all my Sims 2.
I was never bothered about the loading screens at all. The only negative I have about Sims 2 is that all Sims in a neighbourhood don't age at the same time.

flutter i also still have all my sims 2 on my computer
Every Ep and SP and still playing neighbourhoods and generations i started the day the base game was released ( even when i bought a new computer i just installed then transferred all my saves etc across from the old one) . Maybe i was lucky but i never had a single problem installing each new pack as it came out despite having something like 5 gb of CC So far with sims 3 i have had to reinstall 3 times and lucky if i can get more than 2 generations out of them before the save files corrupt and they become unplayable Back on topic i let my grandson play my Sims 3 as he wanted to play with the horses and after just under 2 hours of playing he had 14 zenyattas on the lot . I know how many there were as he collected them all on shelves like trophies Last edited by julienrob2004; 10-11-2011 at 12:45 AM. |

Luckily I stashed my Sims 2 saves on an external and was able to start where I had left off too. I didn't have masses of trouble with the actual game either and I have loads of cc. I still haven't played enough to get a Zenyatta, another irritation from EA.

In the game it is a horse gnome. I have only gotten them with the salt lick, not with winning trophies (and I have a lot of trophies).
In real life however, Zenyatta is one of the greatest Thoroughbred mares to race. In her career she went 19-1 in American racing. |
