Default I enjoy it a lot more now.

I'll probably be laughed at for saying this, but I recently found a way to get more enjoyment out of TS2. How? Simple, don't cheat...
I decided to make a one person family and not cheat at all, and it was good fun. I have always used cheats before, and it's fun, but you don't get that feeling of satisfaction when you can afford to buy a bigger house. So, who here uses cheats ALL the time?

Well, apart from occasional moments of wild abandonment, I've always steered clear of cheats. If you're looking for something to do with a non-cheated family, try a legacy or an AFR. It should make it even more fun

Coincidentally, I have just closed down sims 2 and read this. I had just started a family that was to be my first Legacy family!

I was never much of a cheat user with The Sims 2, partly for the reasons that you state. I don't find the game so enjoyable if my Sims can have everything 'they want' (or I want for them).

Never liked to cheat on TS2. When you use motive cheats or money cheats you're essentially removing the main elements and challenge of the game. It's up to the players though I suppose. I've never seen the point.

I will use them if I'm making a successful business for my Sims to visit, when I know I'm never gonna play the playable who owns it again. So I'll max their motives and keep the store or club open until the business is a top ranked one. Or if, at those rare times the game robs you via a glitch, or a path-finding problem or whatever, I'll use a cheat to make up for it.

Like leaving your hotel door unlocked only to find eight Sims have made themselves at home in the room, hogging the bed, the chairs at the table, watching the TV, when my Sim is dangerously close to passing out. Stuff like that.

maxMotives: I use the energizer instead. I earned it for my Sims by playing them properly and they get to do more for longer with it.

Using boolProp to boost skills. I earn the Thinking Cap instead, and use it with the Energizer, along with Dates and other Aspiration boosting and scoring game elements to get a nice run going. It's just more fun and rewarding than cheating.

lol. I don't cheat, apart from turning off the age progresstion, but that's not really a cheat, it's more of a code. I mean, it's giving away in the manual. XD

lol!!
I'm a sim cheater, I use money cheats and boolprop hehe
When I get sick of the sims, I'll try no cheats... but that hasn't happened yet
The only place I don't use cheats is at uni. I rely on scholarship money and that is waaay more fun than getting the money cheat

I do use cheats occasionally mainly the motherlode one just to get them more money to help them start off and buy a bigger house hehe. I've used boolProp once or twice just to experiment and see what I could do with it

I am guilty of using the money cheats for the residents of Pleasantview and Strangetown but not too generous - just enough to furnish their homes the way I would like it! The furniture form the Ikea expansion pack isn't too expensive!

I don't like to use maxmotives as this always messes up the game if you have toddler sims you are trying to potty-train or a sim is awake when you would like everyone to be asleep.

With the exception of the Elixir of Life for Mortimer (so he will live to see the baby he has with Dina)and occasionally the hot tub (if a sim can't afford to buy one), I don't use the other aspiration rewards as it is cheating a little e.g. money tree or changing lifetime aspirations.

I never use "aging off" - my sims live long enough!

hi. i use cheats all the time. i admit it.
i use maxmotives to get my sims to level 8 in all skills and make friends. i also now use the financial cheats to get my sims a better house. but i use it as a loan so i gave 1 family 200k to build a decent house, then every 5k they earn i take off them to pay it back. like a mortgage. but once they have their house, i do not give them any more money.
never use boolprop as i can never get it to work. lol.
