Default Interactions problem HELP!

I got a lend of Sims 2 off a friend. And I have a issue with it. I haven't downloaded anything or used any custom items. I just literally started it up and it had this problem.

When I click on something, you know the way your head comes up and theres options around your head to choose? When I click on something, it only gives me half a second before dissappearing, this pretty much makes it unplayable for me since I can't click most options. Especially the ones that links into other options.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop.

Any solution to this? This is the only thing thats annoying me.
Please help me.

I tried 2 different houses in the 1st village and I tried the Capp House in Veronaville and it's the same issue.

This isn't an issue I remember reading about but I seem to have a vague recollection of occasionally and briefly experiencing this myself, only to have it fix itself.

Are other aspects of the game working for you correctly? No other obvious gameplay or graphical issues?

Okay, I haven't got a fix for you personally but having done some Googling it does seem that others with your laptop model have have the same problems.

There is some information and links here. I don't know if they will help you I'm afraid but they are worth a read and you could also ask EA Support if they have any suggestions to help you. The link to contact them is at the very top of the forum or there are contact details in the game manual.

Let us know how you get on

*sighs*

Looks like the only option is to update Bios and I don't want to do that since it could break my laptop.

I guess I just leave the Sims 2.

Its fixed now. One of the suggestion was turn off laptop, take out battery, hold power button for 20 seconds. Put battery back in and turn it on.

IT works now!

Thanks for posting that link!
