Default The Sims 2 box Set guides..

I have tried twice to get them through WH Smith and Waterstones in the UK but both times it has been cancelled.

Does anyone know how I can get these at all in the UK?

Thanks!

If I want a game that my local stores don't stock I tend to have Game or Gamestation get them for me. The prices at the stores - especially Game - is slightly higher than if you ordered them fom Play or Amazon online but I strike that from price of headaches online purchases can cause. Heh. So if you have a Gamestation near you ask them about getting a couple of copies in.

The price on EA's store is £20 but if it's anything other than a digital download, it doesn't say. I always prefer to have a physical copy of the game, in a case, with manuals rather than .PDF files. So meh...

You can find a joint collection pack offer at Amazon here (Click Me) for $37.98 (£22) or you can buy each collection individually for $17.99 each. Amazon'll ship them UK-side. You can buy OfB/Uni and the stuff packs you want from Gamestation in their original packaging. The Stuff packs are around for about £3-4 and the EP's about £10. Shop around a bit.

Ah sorry, s'the 'boxset' in the title that threw me, and somebody is talking at me as I surf, lol

Same answer for Prima Guides too. You can have Game or Gamestation order them for you, and then they'll get in touch when they arrive, and you can go and collect them. Also worth checking E-Bay, Amazon, and Play. You can generally find Prima's floating about in digital format (.PDF) ... I'll have a search of teh webz for you a little later, see what I can find.

I found some digital versions and PM'd you. Best options for getting your hands on the books is to go into Waterstones, Game, or Gamestation and have them order it in.

Online: Amazon (Click Me) has two used for under a £10 each. One new for £40.

And Alibris (Click Me) has a few for under £10 all ordering and shipping from the US.

Quite hard to find new copies... meh. I dind't even know it existed until this thread.

Just remember that the writing is very small, and I'm sure I couldn't read it at all. Good luck if you decide to buy them.

Quote from Amazon:
"The writing is tiny, and I mean really tiny. It is at about the limit of what can be read without some sort of magnifying aid. This makes it quite difficult to read, and the screenshots are the size of postage stamps. The cheap quality of the paper used doesn't help the situation."

The print is really small as Argonnessen says but it is worth having the books for reference if you can get them as when I got it the set was at a bargain price. I have some of the larger guides but bought the boxset to have to full set and I do use them from time to time, as does my daughter now.

I would get Prima Guides, but it's a bit steep. I just want to ask - is it really worth it, having the EP's Guides as well as TS2 Base?

I have the base game walkthrough, as well as the university and OFB walkthroughs.

If you ask me, the base game is the MOST useful, but I used the two EP walkthrough guides to learn some very good stuff too.

In summary EP Guides = Very useful
Base Guide = Extremely useful.

Hope i've helped!

You certainly have! I have the same ones as you (lol), but they are the most complicated really. I'm sure it will be a bargain, on Amazon it costs less than ONE new Prima Guide!
When I have enough money, I'll get it!
