Custom Content Troubles :(

Ok I NEVER use cc i see it as cheating so i finally decided to one time and i installed and everything but it didnt show up any ideas

Did you save the files in the Downloads folder?
(My Documents > EA GAMES > The Sims 2 > Downloads)

If so, then try exiting the game and going onto it again, as I often found that the custom content would not appear immediately after installing it, but the second time I played the game.

Nope it hasnt appeared and it is in downloads

Does a message come up before you pick on a town to play to say whether you want to enable or disable custom content? Usually that would come up when you have downloaded cc, just click on enable but you may have to exit the game and go back into it doing the same thing again for it to turn up.

Sorry if that doesnt really make sense, it did in my head lol ;D

There's a good guide to installing CC here.

Is it new content or a recolour?

If it's something new, did you get the mesh? You can check from the site you downloaded from for that.

If it's a recolour, you may need to download CEP first before it will show. The link to that is included in the guide.

And finally, as bobby4788 said, have you enabled CC in your game? If the screen for that isn't showing, go into the game options bit, somewhere in there - can't remember off hand exactly which bit - there is an option to show or hide that particular screen.

On top of all those answers, are the files extracted from the .zip or .rar files, have you extracted the downloads. Have you installed the sims2pack or did you put it directly in the Downloads folder.

Straight into the downloads folder and i think it was zip but i unzipped it
