Pet Job Chance Cards - Problem! 0.o

This time, it is an actual problem!

Whenever a Pet Job Chance Card comes up, when I make a choice the game goes a little odd. After making a choice, the pet no longer seems to:
- bring home any money from its job
- no longer gets promoted
- sits outside as soon as it returns from its non-paying, non-promotion job doing NOTHING until it is manually interacted with or one of its needs runs to absolute minimum and an action is triggered by the "Need Depression" action.

I have all expansions and all stuff packs (bar Mansion and Garden).

Anyone else have the same problem? If so, anyone know if there's a fix for it, or am I going to have to contact tech support?

Hi there. Is this happening on all lots for you and with both cats and dogs? Has it just started since you installed a new pack and is your game patched up to date?

Hmmm. I haven't given any cats jobs yet! So can't say.

It has happened on several lots with dogs.

The last time I remember the chance cards working was when Pets was the most recent pack. Then I didn't play for a while, then I bought all remaining expansion packs (I was going to be stuck in my flat recovering from an operation for two weeks, figured I needed something to do!) and installed and updated them all. As far as I'm aware, all my updates are the most recent version (when I download from the site and run them they say "[expansion pack] is up to date").

I find that re-getting the pet job sets it fine. Funnily enough, I don't know if "Ignore" works because I've not gotten a Chance Card for a pet job since. What are the chances? (literally!)

Aww, well I hope that you recover quickly from the surgery. Have you installed the most recent patch for Apartment Life?

Have just downloaded the patch from the link you've posted. When I run it it says that Apartment Life is already up to date, so I assume I've been running the game and experiencing the problems under the most recent patch.

Okay, have you tried in another neighbourhood maybe? Usually if they are glitches that are not addressed then they are specific to one lot of maybe neighbourhood.

Has anyone experienced this type of situation?
