Default What would you add in your own sims game?

In this forum please post what features you would change or add if you could create your own sims game. If i could I would only change how you build a town. This is how I would do it:

  • To begin with you name your town, Select terrain (grass, desert, concrete, dirt or even snow/ice) and decide how big it is.
  • Next you pick a back ground (This could be Hills, A city outline, Or just another town. The background town would be like a town version of an npc. This is how it makes it possible to zoom right out and also add character.
  • Next can add hills, small mountains, lakes and trees.
  • Then add man made things like train tracks, tunnels, roads/pavements, and like fountains or statues and things like that.
  • To add lots it will be like adding squares in a picture on paint. You find a road and create a lot. It will fix it self to the closest road, therefore you can add lots to curved roads.
  • Finally, design buildings or add pre-made ones
What you Do or change?

probably add more life stages and more special animal sims like cat people who could climb on rooves and stuff also things like more house building options like a proper tool for adding basements and building rooftop pools and suff.

Good ideas. I always have trouble making basements.

I would create a tool that allows you to create basements that are the same size as the foundation without affecting the land's height outside, probably by allowing you to create vertical land, which I'd like anyway. I'd also add the competition things from pet stories to sims 2 pets. I'd also like you to be able to create extra clothes (using the sewing machine, perhaps). For example, more options of patterns and a variety of designs for each age when sewing custom clothing. Rooftop pools would also be nice. Everything else I'd like is just making various items have more functions, for example, being able to change clothing using end tables/put more items on tables, and buying clothes from thedecorative items that came with H&M stuff. Finally, being able to check the weather forecast in the paper.

I would like to have "themed" neighbourhoods and with that, the choice of transport that would be appropriate for that theme e.g. victorian theme would have horse and carts etc.

I like the idea of having a railway - reminds me of the days when I used to play Sim City (please don't remind me of how long ago that was!)

Maybe you should try Sim city 4.

In my game you can create aliens from CAS!!! I would also add stuff so you can make land on top of the house (like a cave) and way more creatures, no more stupid Sims, way bigger lots, more roofs that aren't so steep, and themed stuff. Like poor people stuff and styles to look like a haunted house.

You can, it comes with Seasons.
I'd like to add items from Superstar, like the mudbaths and all the celebrity stuff! Basically bring back Superstar, with flashier stuff, like for the model career, you could have LOADS of stuff, like a make-up station, where someone makes you up, for the film career, you could add theatre to the works, and you simcould go act or watch a play, and I hate it when Sims sit down on the sofa watching the TV, and start talking to each other, it annoys me, and when the sims are watching a play, when they're acting, don't let them start nattering to each other about the weather whilst the play is on.

*gasp*
Also I'd like to see a cinema. A great big massive screen that takes up like 8 squares or something, and plays sims movies but in full, like with the movies shown on the TV in FreeTIme, look like previews or something for the films.

And I'd have a TV career, like a talk show host or something similar.

Those are my ideas.

Default Erm I would

I think i would add more realistic movements, i know it was a big jump from sims one, and im still shocked at it but maybe its not so much the movements i mean, Like when sims prepare food, where did that pan/bowl go? And why don't the books acctually come out of the bookcase? And where, when sims get changed do the clothes go? Maybe some cupboards with plates and cups etc in, drinks at the table, a kettle to make tea/coffee. Those little things that we all take for granted in everyday life could potentially make the sims the best running game ever, not that its not allready. And maybe if tv wasnt so blury..... and life itself for some sims, for eg, you make a sim whos designed to be poor but wants to be rich, has a bed that cost $300, and anything else they need simpliflied, and they want a $5000 game.... wouldnt you think they would want a job and to build thier way up the line? I'd leave the layout etc just how it is, but have washing up pilled onto the counters, Books that acctually come out of the bookcase, and if sims take too many, they may fall out, clothes left on the floor waiting to be picked up, put in a basket to be either washed at home and either put on a washing line, or on a radiator or even drycleaned? Sims can sit down and drink coffe, they can go out and sunbathe in their back yard, id have seansons allready in it along with pets, and ikea stuff and teen style stuff, and also has maxis forgot about the elder age? they havent given them any new outfits since seasons, but adults and below have loads. I can see it now, The Sims Real Life (a spin off like life stories etc) or even the sims 4? who knows? maybe one day, all our posts can come true....

Default Round and skew

I'd like to be able to make rounded corners and put things at odd angles (without having to use cheats). It would also be nice if sims could then use those oddly placed items.

I'd love to be able to put a round island in my pool.

I also love the idea, already mentioned, about vertical ground so you can have a PROPER basement.

I would like semi detached or more that two houses built together and you can choose which family. Also have a for sale sign if your sims want to get a rid of it. The objective of it is if you buy one, townies and even sims you made come and look at it and you can look around it yourself and if someone decieds to buy it it will say sold

I actually feel with Apartment life they've covered every (well, most) possibilities and it's a really well rounded game now. If they were to improve it much more they'd have to update the game engine so we could do amazing things with buildings etc. Curly stairs, ceilings and apartment systems were the obvious gaps in the game which are now filled.

I would add more individual interactions and have sims react to other sims clothes/style of dress/mood etc. For example, if a sim went on a date dressed in pyjamas the other sim would react to that and if they had dressed up and looked nice they would react to that too.

To have a bustling city with any shop imaginable, a seamless neighbourhood so you can see the whole city in motion

I saw that someone had wanted Sims 2 Real Life. So do I!! I think sometimes sims arent quite real enough. Like a washing machine for housewives, or send out dryclean for rich lazy sims. Apparently in apartment life you can open windows, yay! I also want more jobs, fireman, model, racing car driver, fighter pilot, anything!! I also want to be able to buy things from a catologue/online shopping, I know its lazy but if all I want is clothes, its a waste of time gng all the way to the shops. I also want to join interactions, like eat food infront of the tv or wipe the counter whilst on the phone. Basically if sims keeps gng the way it is now, I should be happy haha xxxzz

there isnt the option to open windows but there is an open and shut version of the same window in build mode.

And sadly, there isnt any more new careers.

I would like Sims to be able to multi task. Like putting a book away while on the phone, or making dinner

My list:

Cutscenes when you become vampire (That would be AWESOME!) werewolf, PlantSim, etc.

As said before, Multi-tasking really would be great (you only have to reach away from the keyboard to get the phone, not stand up and walk to the other side of the desk!)

And if you and your friend are on the sofa playing the console, they talk with each other anyway, or am I confused?

EA should look here for inspiration, we're doing the creative bit for them!
