Default Troubleshooting Guide - Temp Files

Temp Files

Sometimes, corruptions to temporary files created when programs install and/or run, can cause serious game instabilities or even prevent your game from starting up (something which I discovered to my annoyance late 2004). Thankfully they can easily be deleted. These tasks are best performed with no running applications or processes including internet browser and connection (if possible). See the section on Background Tasks for more information on how to do this.

Contents
  1. Windows XP
  2. Windows 95/98/ME
