Im stuck, please help. five characters in search of author

Im playing simpsons on psp, im on level mentioned above.
ive got past the lawyers and am on the bit where there is 3 pillars and the 3rd pillar has a lever on it that we need to pull. how on earth do i get onto that 3rd pillar!
bart cant jump that high, and ive tried blasting homer across but its doesnt work.
please help!

Grapple with Bart up to the ledge, and then double jump and glide to the pillar, if I remember rightly.
