help stuck in five characters in search of a author

im completely stuck can understand what i need to do there are some bollards but cant get onto them pls help been stuck on this for ages on ds

I think you're at the beginning of the level, outside the mansion, right? And the "bollards" are the collapsed pillars? If so;

Jump up onto the top of the fountain.
Grapple to the top of the pillars.
Double jump across the pillars and pull the lever.

With Homer, "ball-boost" over the pool and go on, up to the mansion entrance.
