Can you drive a vehicle in The Simpsons Game?

I was wondering because I'm planning on getting it tomorrow and I don't know if I can drive or just walk.

Also, can you tell me qhat happens in the game..

Like, do you explore Springfield? Or some random place, ect..

That's one of the disadvantages of the game, cuz for next gen consoles, the hub Springfield you can explore, however since the characters don't drive (meaning they can only move in much slower pace by foot), it gets a bit tiring trying to look for famous landmarks...
