SimCity Societies no longer works.

SCS was working perfectly until my PC did an automatic Windows update, since when it now only runs for about one minute before kicking me back to the desktop with the message "SimCity Societies has stopped working".

I have set every available option in the game settings to LOW but that makes no difference.

My system is a P4 Quad core 1.8, with 4Gb RAM, and the graphics card is a Geforce 8800 GTX Ultra. The system runs under Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit.

The automatic update removed all my restore points, so I can't get things back to how they were, and as SCS is the only thing affected, Microsoft say it is a problem with the game not Vista.

I have installed the SimCity update #5, but that has made no difference either.

Anyone got any suggestions at all?

I'm afraid that I don't have any suggestions here apart from contacting EA Support who may have some more ideas for you.

There is a link at the very top of the forum or contact details in your game manual. I really hope that they can help.

Hey was wondering how you got on with customer support, I'm having the same problem after a windows update. The game starts to load and then just gives me the SimCity Societies has stopped working message.

I'm running a Vista Home Premium 64-bit system with 6 GB RAM, 512 Mb Radeon HD4570. Game was fine so any ideas would be useful....

Will just note that it first crashed after I increased the Video Resolution to match my screen but even if thats the prob I can't load the game to change it back. Help lol

Hey again just to say I got it working, reinstalled Update #5 for the game and that seems to have sorted out any issues I had, hope this helps peeps in the future.
