Okay, I have looked through the whole ea forums and can't find a suitable place except this place, before you complain it is to do with Sims.
Well anyway, as it's about ideas I am going to give some; 1)Rotate, a tool that has only been in one simcity and has not had a problem in the classic, all the otheres are harder because of that. 2)Tourism zones, to attract tourists and bring in money, more efficient if there's more transport like;tube, airport, monorail, bus, train and suspended carts. I would enjoy to hear your ideas, i will open another thread like this somewhere else if this is closed, preferably where they tell to put it. Please post your ideas here and don't be really annoying or spam or swear. I voted for simcity societies, don't ask why. Last edited by nooblet68; 26-02-2009 at 06:15 PM.. |

I've moved this to the SimCity forums for you.
Some good ideas there, hopefully we will see another Sim City version at some future date, maybe they could include your ideas.

The Sim City Forum doesn't seem to be used.
For me the best version is definetely Sim City Societies. It's a shame this got slated. If they dropped the word 'cities' I think it would have done quite well. People were expecting something similar to the higher level abstract version of the other Sim Cities, but I like Societies, especially the Mobile version |

Your right it doesn't deserve the 'city' phoneme. Though 'Societies' is what Red Alert is to Command & Conquer. My reply to one of the other threads explains why Societies failed in my opinion. A little tweaking and we would have had an excellent game

I like the massive metropolitan city building idea that was in SC4 and I think one of the biggest factors that most of the people liked was the traffic management, and taking care of the citizens by supplying water, electricity and garbage. This was all the factors that really made the SC series stand out above the rest and the sad part is that all these factors where missed on the newest SC.
One thing that I don t like about the EA games is that they focus mostly on Graphics and new Technologies but most of the games lack in game play that makes the game really fun to play over and over…. Few of my ideas are … 1. Every city or town starts because of some sort of attraction that is in the area this could be tourism, mining, farming, trading posts and massive factory’s. That lures people to the area. This will be a good starting point for a city in SC. 2. I also liked the traffic control that was in SC4 building highways, subways and railways to speed up traffic this is defiantly something to focus on for future SC development 3. Including areas where tourism, mining, and other industrial like buildings can be placed the reason for this is that that not all buildings can be placed in any area. Example: Mining buildings will supply massive amount of work but must be placed on an area where gold or other resources could be mined from. Tourism buildings must be placed on areas where there is an attraction for tourists. 4. Land marks and such buildings must be placed as achievements for really big and beautiful cities, this must be a hard achievement to get in game that provides big advantages to your city, and this must not be an easy to get building. One of my biggest dreams is to be part of the development of a game or an MMO game I am a programmer and would like to help you guys

I would like to have a building editor inside the game, like in SimCity 3000 (I can't remember if it's inside the game, but still...).
Also, now that they're making sites to upload and download mods, and even tutorials about how to make them, what about a built in modding tool? I'm a little bit tired of looking for a program to mod SCS, and some years ago SC4 (which I sadly can't play anymore, guess it's because of the old graphics perhaps or something.) :{( About the zoning ideas, I would prefer only R, C and I. I would more put airport under C, but I'd prefer to build premade airport buildings from a building menu. The same with schools and hospitals, if I understand you right. I personally liked sim city 4 more than societies. That's not saying i didn't like societies because i did, just not as much as sc4
One thing i thing they should keep in the next sim city is the ability to import sims from sim games. I liked this feature because it let me make the city a bit more personal. another thing i liked was the music which was awsome and fit perfectally with the game. Some people said that sc4 was too complicated, but i find that i get to grips with it after playing for a while. I think the next sim city should include most of the things from sim city 4 |
