Hi Daisy and welcome to the forums
![]() Did the install run smoothly for you? And have you got all background tasks disabled while you try to run the game? It may well be worth contacting EA Support fully outlining your problem and if possible attaching the dxdiag for your system. I did see that someone else had this problem on the Tilted Mill forum but unfortunately the resolution to the issue was not posted.

Seems most folk have had to reinstall windows to get past this "issue". Edit You could give these a go Daisy... Check any firewalls on your system to ensure they are not blocking the game from accessing the internet. Applications like Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, BlackIce etc will all act as a firewall. Please check the documentation that came with the firewall to allow the game access. Try disabling all the background applications on your system to see if this helps allow the game to operate. Here is how to do this : - Click on the start menu, - Click on run, - Type in the following MSCONFIG, - Click on the startup tab, - Deselect all the tick boxes, - Click on apply and then close, - Restart your computer, - When your computer starts up again, please close these messages, - Try to play the game again. To return to the original startup sequence follow below instructions - click start menu - click run - type in the following MSCONFIG - click on normal startup - click on apply and then close - restart your computer If your system is running Windows XP with a service pack, then this will include the basic windows firewall. Please make sure you have checked the firewall to make sure the game has access to the internet. Please see the following link for how to change the firewall settings : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...2_wfintro.mspx -------------------------------------------------- Not much info on the tiltedmill site either I'm afraid.

I don't know tbh.
If you've got a spare afternoon & don't have much on your pc that you mind losing, you could always try reinstalling windows. It's worked for a few people. It's been a very problematic game for a lot of people.

Hi Roo,
I should have a few spare afternoons in a couple of months - I bought the game to amuse myself while I'm on maternity leave and waiting to hatch! Thought it might take my mind of things rather than cleaning and stressing! lol Baby is due at the end of October so I'm guessing it may well arrive before I get the game running!!!! ![]() Daisy x |

EA Support sucks. I had the same problem. They kept asking me really stupid questions and also had me take screen shots of error messages I'd already sent them. Gave me the run-around. I finally gave up on them and got a refund on the game. They are by far the most stupid support people I've ever dealt with. I'll never buy and EA products again.

If anyone's still coming by this thread and has comodo firewall or similar on their computer, try unblocking files listed as from Sony DADC since they are related to SecuROM (eg. drm_dialogs.dll and drm_dyndata_7380009.dll). I just went through my blocked files and freed them up, game works fine now ^_^
