Default rugby 09 - when? and what?

Ea people - is there a game and if ther is when will be coming out..

first off all the players should be scrapped. start agein get the ratings, impact players from their current peformance - so how good they are now not 3 years ago.
for example danny cipriani would have a rating in the 80's and david strettle also.
for impact players get rid of nyanga, spencer, lewsey, robinson and umaga
bring in martin williams, sergio parisse, vincent clerc, cedric heymans, paul sackey and andre sheridan

now most of the ideas people have put down are great but ea wont do most of them. lets hav some realistic ideas.

we need a ref, assistant ref and definitely a TMO . it would be awesome looking at replays of whether a try is a try or not.

online mode

players stats improvent in tournaments and def world league

and we should allowed to change players stats and positions in my rugby

would love to see it but i think thats wishful thinking,

new "star" players should also include Paul O connell, luke mcalister, as well as l=holding on to a few like, Carter O gara, O driscoll (questionable), wilkinson, and giteau.

Sackey and haskel, do not deserve stars!!!

More stars in front 5, Chris Jack, Sheridan, the french captain ( sorry cant think of his name)

I hope there's another but I'm not confident.

I'm also not a big fan of the stars - if they must persist they should only be given to players with a rating over 95.

That would leave the likes of Carter, Jack, Burger, Du Preez etc. Haskell doesn't look like he should be in the England side ahead of Croft - he isn't a star yet.

cant think of anyone in the australian team other then Giteau that deserves to have it, mortlock is retiered (i think), mccaw carter collins and rokocoko all could keep theirs, maybe hayman in newcastle now, habana and steyn in south africa considering the mass export of players after the world cup.

O gara, O driscoll and O connell for ireland
Shane williams hook and Martin williams for wales
maybe paterson for scotland, definately white
leclerc heymans rougire for france and maybe nallet
parisse and marco bergamasco for italy

- Better commentary. (e.g. if you cross the goal line, the commentator doesn't seem to realise it)

- Option to get rid of commentary, and just have crowd/referee/players shouting at each other, but with realistic and more detailed shouting... not just "watch the overlap" and stuff at random times...

- A fallible referee who appears on the pitch but can miss things if he is looking in the wrong direction...

- The ability to try and hold the ball up over the goal line

- Fix the silly bugs in the game rules like...
+ losing "advantage" automatically when the ball goes into touch
+ penalty for crooked throw
+ when ball becomes unplayable in ruck, scrum goes to the defending team
+ Knock-on/forward pass not punished most of the time

- Better scrums & mauls... e.g. the ability to drive back the scrum if you don't have the ball, or for it to become chaotic and fall apart like in real life... The mauls are a bit too hum-drum as well...

- The ability to pass the ball to the backs from the maul, without doing a set play!

- The ability to adjust the controls, or at least not make the "S" key the touch-down button... (the amount of times I've kicked the ball accidentally when charging for the line, or off-loaded when over the line to someone who hasn't yet crossed it...)

- The ability to run diagonally up and left!

- The ability to adjust players' details

- The ability to organise friendly matches in World League mode

- Introduce new players who came up through academy/clubs/schools/whatever in World League mode. (Not just buying players off other clubs)

- Better user interface in World League mode

- I think that you should be able to to stuff like swerve steps or quick steps
- you should be able to hand off people any where!
- When you grubber one on against a winger, it pretty much always works, it should be harder
- The forwards are rubbish and you can't do anything with them, you should be able to do more

They won't listen to any suggestions.

It will be the same game, maybe with roster updates(but I doubt it).

There will be no new features.

Ive been browsing these forums and seen a fair few good ideas

the thing that i would like to see in this game is that you can make your own team ... anything from there kit, pitch, moves ... even a youth team it would be very exciting to play and see your team develop into an amazing side i would also like to see that you can create your own league would take some time but i reckon it would be worth it, like for us rugby players i would like to create my team and the other teams in my league and battle it out on my PS or P.C etc. if EA did put that idea into practice i bet they would give you a ****ty selection i.e not enough patterns for kit, only 3 pitches to choose from etc ... shame about EA not taking notice of what there customers want ... to be honest i reckon rugby 09 will not change to 08 just the kits and players will be updated they proberly wont throw any good changes into the game ...

Default New ideas for Rugby 09/10

Create your own team, colours, kit styles and club names. I want to play as Newport RFC against some of the international teams Aus, NZ and SA at Rodney Parade we have beaten them all at some point in history and I would like to do it again. It would be cool to set up my local club I play for as well (as close as possible anyway). At least a European style pool/knockout competition that you select the teams or done using the current selected teams. Get rid of the stars above the players heads they are just annoying. Any player that scores a try is a star for the day at least. Where are the referee and touch judges (or are they the referee's assistants now?) For a rugby fan such as myself this game is the ultimate. A combination of referee and commentary voices during the game. It would be good if you could hear the ref calling advantage and similar calls. When your near your opponents try line it should zoom in similar to when your defending and the action gets tense. I want to see my hand off and player scoring a bit closer without having to go to a replay. Update the clubs colours a bit closer to the current ones as well, I know they change every season a little but it does look better when it's close to what they are wearing at the moment. That's me done, EA if you need me to come work for you I will I love this game.

Steven Gerrard, great player but isn't this a Rugby forum. I have never seen Pro Rugby Manager 2. Although living in Australia we miss out on alot of the European based games. Do you really think EA Rugby 08 is ****.

the roster is completely messed up and seeing that i am welsh and the welsh teams arent liscensed, i get angry. Go on Cyanide studios or look it up on ebay for PRM2, It's AMAZING.

I think the game needs to come out on XBOX 360 and PS3.
Rosters need to be overhauled.
License more national teams (Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Romania, Japan)
More licensed leagues and compititions like Celtic League, French Top 14 and Italian Premiership.
Improved create a player.
Better gameplay.
Manager and/or career mode.

Thanks for the tip, I'm Welsh to but live in Australia. That's why I want to play as Newport RFC or the Dragons. I just hope EA keep making the Rugby game full stop, they make every other sport each year without fail, basketball, NFL even golf!! etc...
