Finally Adroit!!!
Can you tell me one thing, the stand alone instruments are RB2 or RB1 models? "• Stand alone guitars will retail at £39.99 • Stand alone drums will retail for £49.99 • An “Instrument Edition” including drums, guitar and microphone will retail for £89.99" I guess that these are RB1 models "In addition to the new price points, consumers will now also be able to purchase the Rock Band Instrument Edition and Rock Band software together for £119.99 for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360 and for £109.99 for the PlayStation 2 and Wii." And these will be RB2 models, am I right? thanks for the good news! |

Since this announcement doesn't mention it, I guess I will ask again.
How about some info about the RB2 instruments? Or If I import a set will you provide me with support in europe? I mean, I already imported the game, this whole regional launches used to work just great 20 years ago. But now a days is just a silly concept and I wont wait to get a game. Unless ofcourse you absolutely wanted GH:WT to get more sales in europe. Seriously, the lack of information is the most annoying part of this. I just want a word on the RB2 instruments. Please tell me this isn't right:
" Following Friday's announcement of new pricing for Rock Band instruments in Europe, EA has confirmed to Eurogamer that the prices apply to the original Rock Band 1 instruments only. "We're introducing new, low price points for the original Rock Band hardware to make starting a band more affordable than ever," said the publisher in a statement. There are plans to release the improved Rock Band 2 instruments in Europe, but they're not confirmed yet, and neither is the price. "We're also working on getting Rock Band 2 hardware to Europe and we hope to have more news soon," to quote the release. The new, lower pricing for Rock Band instruments will come into effect alongside the March and April release dates for the PS2, PS3 and Wii versions of Rock Band 2. Standalone drums will cost GBP 49.99, guitars GBP 39.99 and a full "instrument edition" set will set you back GBP 89.99. There will be official bundles of the hardware with Rock Band 2, too - these come in at GBP 119.99 for PS3 and Xbox 360 and GBP 109.99 for PS2 and Wii." in New prices are for old Rock Band kit News // None /// Eurogamer - Games Reviews, News and More are you guys really going to MAKE BUNDLES WITH THE RB1 INSTRUMENTS AND THE RB2 SOFTWARE???? This is absolutely RIDICULOUS and looks more and more like you think Europeans are Stupid Morons!!! Stop trying to shove us old and outdated hardware and trying to pass it as good deals!!! Sells us FULL BUNDLES WITH THE RB2 INSTRUMENTS!!! I understand that you are trying to clearout the standalone instrument stock, but going all the way to make FULL BUNDLE KITS with OLD INSTRUMENTS is a bit too much!!! |

They need to release info about the RB2 hardware, atleast something. At the moment it's like they absolutely want to do everything they can to lose sales to GH:WT in europe. |

Translation: "Our plans are wait and see if those anxious europeans can't resist anymore and end buying our new lower pricing and lower quality RB1 instruments in enough quantity so we can delay the launch of the RB2 ones until we clean house".

I'd like to add my voice of disgruntlement about this announcement to this thread. I haven't waited this long to buy the instruments because I couldn't afford them, I've waited because the superior hardware had been announced and I decided I wanted to wait for that. While it's good that the instruments are now at a more comparable price point to the USA, it can't hide that this is basically an announcement of their budget re-release, and it's not going to change my plan.
Oh, and to answer MusePT's question about the bundles being RB2 software with RB1 instruments: I missed it first time too, but if you read the press release again you'll see that every other paragraph talks about "Rock Band 2" but that one specifically says "the Rock Band Instrument Edition and Rock Band software" - it's a bundle for the original game, not the new one. |

Really taking the lalalalalala expecting us to buy RB1 instruments with RB2
Taken this long for RB2 to release just to milk RB1 to the full in europe. Now another cheap tactic to rake in more cash at the expense of the customer base. Remember the days when EA were at the cutting edge of software (yes that was an awful long time ago on the C64). Now its simply about how much wonga you can extract from folk. Sick of it EA, suck my root !!!! |

Ditto. This sucks big time.
I've waited this long for RB2 on Wii because EA wanted to milk the exclusivity deal with Microsoft, and now they want to palm off their excess stock of old hardware on me and tell me I'm on to a good deal!!!!!! RB2 is released on my birthday and I was going to get the full package but now they can take a running jump.

As far as I am aware it is still on Friday. If I hear anything that contradicts that then we shall post it though.
