In short they have run into multiple technical issues and are getting them resolved before they release the game but they never said what issues these are and if it will affect any features or anything so at the moment any date that retailers say i would take with a pinch of salt.

Phil,

Thanks for that link. I was only joking when they said I hoped they were implementing patches, perhaps they might be! Maybe we will see support for larger capacity SD cards??

(More likely to be some minor bug fixes and/or problems with the DLC).

I guess the best we can hope for is that they get it spot on when it is released. Just want to rock out to some of the shinier DLC!

I would beleive this if it wasnt for the fact US customers have had the game since Nov08, knowing many people who work on multi-platform games like this, even they say there is no excuse for this amount of delay, and even worse still is the severe lackof detail regarding the issue. I would say normally that just saying "we have issues" covers them for short term, but when it gets out of hand like 9 months, they should really be giving their fans more intel to help us understand.

Coupled with the fact that both the PS3 and 360 got their EU versions on time, this makes me more suspicious that there are more worrying issues. Why oh why I didnt buy this on the xbox I dont know, I dont normally have much faith in Microsoft, but at least they help to deliver.

"In short they have run into multiple technical issues and are getting them resolved before they release the game"

reads like not many people bought rock band 1 in europe on the wii as we released an inferior cut down version and launched it months after the other platforms again, so we won't put as much effort in to getting this one released as we won't make as much money off it as the xbox or playstation version. How can there be multiple technical issues, i'm willing to believe online problems but i'm sure it wouldn't take 7 months to fix, glad i bought guitar hero, looking forward to friday and guitar hero hits.
they should rename it in europe to rock band who? (when/where!)

yeah i can see this game not getting released here on the wii unless ea can confirm otherwise officially. At least the developers where good enought to at least give us a reason all be it minimal.
What is the best instruments to get if i decide to just get the 360 version gh instruments or rb1 instruments since rb2 instruments prob will never be released in europe.

I bought the guitar hero world tour bundle, the drums are supposed to be better than the rock band 1 drums, they are velocity sensitive you can hit gentle or harder on some notes and they have 2 cymbals.

The guitar hero guitar has raised buttons on the neck and a touch sensitive part lower down the neck as opposed to pushing the neck in on the RB guitar but that would just be preference.

The RB1 guitar looks a lalalalalaeap compared to the sunburst GH one but that's just my opinion.

I think you maybe right about RB2 not coming out in Europe which is a shame and it also worries me about the beatles game, hope they don't delay that as i am looking froward to it, with that due in september i can't see them releasing RB2 the same time.

Default My Story

Bumping.

Dear Electronic Arts,

Get your act together.

I alone have spent over £300 on Guitar Hero equipment. I imagine a fair amount has been spent by other fans of the series. You obviously don't want a slice of this huge pie.

I have 2 different game stores in my local area, and both have suggested I get Rock Band 1 instead. (They have no brains, not realizing the instruments wont work with this title)

I have GH3, GH:A, GH:WT & GH:GH (not a Metalllica fan, sorry), complete with drums, 3x guitars & microphone, so as you can see I am a great lover of this genre.

I pre-ordered RB2 back in March when it seemed it was coming out in April. I waited patiently until the latest disappointment, when we were let down by yourselves, yet again. I stupidly bought 5000 Wii points in antisipation of the release in June, not believing you could fail us again after countless delays.

I have now cancelled my pre-order, and if it ever does surface, will wait a few weeks and buy it pre-owned, just so you get nothing for the sale.

You have already let me down personally. I just hope for the sake of the 1000's of hopefull fans you release this game to the European market soon, or I feel your reputation within the games industry will be forever tarnished.

PLease give us info on when or if rb2 will be released in europe as its unfair that the beatles rockband has been released for the wii before rb2 when all other consoles have rb2.

Well ea you have lost another wii customer as i was able to get a rb guitar for £20 for the 360 and just decided to get rb2 for the 360 too as with delay after delay for the wii with no info except from the developers themselfs and thats just to say there are technical printing problems which doesn't really say much either adn no specific release date.
Its a shame becasue it just seems alot of developers and publishers are trying to help the wii fail as a console.

I will be looking fwd to rocking out on the 360 though either tomorrow or monday next week.

Play.com are howing a pre-release date for this game as 1st March 2010. I've officially had it with waiting for this game, especially as the Forum on the Harmonix website blame 'a technical issue that stops them printing the discs'

seems strange that they can't get RB2 printed but the worldwide launch of The Beatles is being hailed as a huge success.
