Rock Band 2 PS3, PS2 and Wii release dates! - Page 2

I used to work in an independent games store, and I called in a few favours with them. From what they can tell, EA are releasing it on the 24th, but its EA's distributors, Centresoft who are telling all the retailers that its not out till the 15th of May.

they really can't just ship the instruments over here no
they don't even need to change the hardware
all they have to do is release a patch that makes them compatable with pal consoles
the usb ports are universal so they don't need to change that

id rather harmonix took a break from the dlc that i doubt many people buy anymore and get us our damn instruments

we should all complain directly to EA
they can't ignore this many complaints but it will only worl if EA and harmonix actually see our complaints
voicing our complaints on threads like this will never reach the eyes of harmonix

i truley see what u are saying minipaint and it is a good idea but think using this forum is best as maybe aurora can take these complaints directly to someone at ea as she is an ea representative, its just as easy for a company to ignore letters too unfortunatly.

Lets just hope aurora gets back to us with the reason

Thanks alot Aurora you seem to be the only person doing something about this and your time and effort are very much appreciated

I have just sen that retailers and web sites are now saying its delayed till 29th May, I know games are subject to delay but its really a bit of a joke now especially as harmonix and ea refuse to give any reasons (to the public and yourself) of the delay and also taking so long to confirm the delay as they did with the april date.

I know the americans on harmonix web site have been saying that rb2 doesn't seem to work with sdhc cards could this be the reason for the delay here?
could they be trying to solve it?
at worst could the online section of the game now be getting changed where its the same as GH:wt where only 2 wii's can connect to each other online?
Has the game even been finnished for europe i.e are they still coding it etc?

Just imagine the scene, little new comer johnny looks on ea's site see it shows rb2 is out for wii and thinks great i buy that. Goes to well known retailer and they tell him sorry but game not out yet been put back to 29th may, little johnny is very angry explains that on publishers website it states its out now. He then prcedds to argue with retailer its out as no information on reason for any delay until he comes into these forums. Then thinks to himself not buying from that developer/publisher they lie.

It appears from both Play & Amazon that we now have a further delay, all the way back to the 26th June.

Is there any info as to what is happening? I was absolutely dying to get my hands on this game, bought the instruments and the first Rock Band for the Wii (even though it is a really bad port), and now I really wish I had shelled out the extra and bought an XBOX.

(I live in hope that the delays are because of the patches that we won't have access to being added to the disc!

)

I would be most grateful if someone could provide a bit more info.

I too have been waiting for this game for months, I find it pretty poor by a company as large as EA not to say something to its players, and worse that play just put the date back without saying a word either. Its beginning to look like the corporate giants cant be bothered with us until we stop paying for their goods, they should remember who keeps their wallets fat, especially in times of recession!

Any info would be good!

Hi EAUK_AURORA is there any further update as to why this game keeps getting moved back and also was there anything that came back from the feedback you gave to EA about our concerns over this mess. Retailers and websites now have this as not getting released till 26thJUNE at the earliest.
Also why are ea being so inconsistent as it still says that this is out now for the wii when clearly its not.

26th of June? AWWW! I and many others probably is pretty angry! i ordered it 19th of april, then delayed till 21st of may, then to 28th and then to 26th of june?
I'm actually losing interest for this game because of this huge waiting time! A big company should not have problems with releasing one game, first i read this were coming out somewhere around 20th of august.
Anyways, we would still appreciate to know what's delaying the release!

I am afraid that beyond the last time I posted I have not heard any details on this although as promised I did relay your disappointment and frustration at the delay.

Well I see the release date for UK has now changed to 3rd July, I think this is an absolute disgrace, it goes to show how much EA think of their European customers NOTHING!
Guitar Hero hits comes out on the 26th of June I will be buying that and I've now gave up and cancelled my pre-order for rock band 2, I won't be buying it if it ever comes out, aurora maybe you could take that back to EA not that they will be interested as their update and total lack information as to why this has been delayed so many time shows.

I actually log on here every day now just to see exactly how far it has been pushed back this time. I would love to say I check to see if there is any news as to why there has been such a long delay, but I doubt we will ever see one!

(Note, I am not blaming Aurora for the lack of news, as they have been most helpful. Rather the "higher-ups" who refuse to pass on information.)

What is most frustrating about this is that the US has now had this game for quite some time, DLC flying around with abandon and some people bought the instruments and RB1 awaiting RB2 (RB1 is, lets be honest, a bit shoddy on the Wii). I actually now wish that I hadn't wasted this money and had put it towards an Xbox 360 - a console I would have bought exclusively to play RB2.

ok folks just to let you know there has been an update from the harmonix team about rb2 for the wii see the following link :-

In short they have run into multiple technical issues and are getting them resolved before they release the game but they never said what issues these are and if it will affect any features or anything so at the moment any date that retailers say i would take with a pinch of salt.
