i'm not going to moan and whine that much. i went to my mates and played rock band on his 360, must admit it is one of the most enjoyable games i have ever played. much to my horror though it seems it is going to take a while before it is out on the ps3. the only upside to this is that it gives me time to save my pennies to actually get it, and clear some space in the room to put the drum kit

I dare say it's because Microsoft made a deal with EA, get GH4 then posting here to tell everyone won't make them release it on the PS3 faster, they have a contract which stops them from doing it. And it's no more annoying then when the PS2 got GTA3, VC and SA before the PC and Xbox because of timed exclusivity deals, just this time around MS got there first.

It's annoying im starting to feel like they've just forgotten about PS3, Wii and PS2 because if it was going to be released 'later this summer' it would have been given an actual date by now. I don't want gh4 because the difficulty of gh3 has really put me off the rest of the guitar haeor games. I wouldn't be surprised if it still hasn't come out by mid autumn.

Did they say it was a definate date or estimated? Everywhere I look it says 12th September or September 2008.
Edit: Wait... The 14th is a Sunday. It can't be. Last edited by StitchRFC; 26-08-2008 at 11:03 PM. |

Again, believing anything you're told in GAME is a mug's game. Until EA or Harmonix give a date, there isn't a date.
The September date is for the US release on X360, and although a worldwide release was promised by an EA marketing drone, that was very quickly retracted. |

I'm no fan of timed exclusives - they leave a segment of gamers out for no due reason, but Sony and the Playstation have been doing it in some form for years - it's relatively recently where Microsoft have been pouncing on stuff like this. It works both ways - something that used to benefit Sony almost exclusively does no longer ![]()

What is the actual deal with Rockband 1 & 2 for each console?
Obviously RB1 isn't out yet for the PS3 and as far as I'm aware there isn't a confirmed release date? Then RB2 is due to be released shortly for the 360? but not PS3? Also am I right in saying that the GH3 instruments won't work with RB on the PS3 but do on the 360? |

Cheers for the replies
![]() Still none the wiser so I think I'll just get GH:WT as I already have 2 guitars from GH3. Also heard the Rockband equipment is wired and poorly made which really doesn't fill me with confidence. Shame as the RB track list is better but when spending that sort of money I want decent equipment, and want to know that it will be compatable with what I already have ![]() |

I just received a message from HMV, stating they were taking pre-orders on the Instruments Pack, for a 12th September, release...So, perhaps there's something to this?

I'm starting to wonder if it is actually coming out 12th September. It's not very likely but a lot of stores changed their date to 1st October and have now changed it back to 12th September. Also a lot of them have changed to a Sony Band in a Box instead of a seperate one for both Sony consoles. Maybe they got some info about Rock Band.
Was browsing the Rock Band forums and found these pictures of a GAME store. Quote:

I have had to date, about 3 or four international-reach, major chains (one even sending a RB-dedicated newsletter, to me) sending me messages, requesting that I order the game from them, for next week. It WILL happen. I'm convinced.
