Default Can someone from EA explain why Rock Band is £180 in the UK please????

As title, can someone from EA explain why Rock Band is going to retail at £180 in the UK please?

Is it pure greed as I cannot see any other reason it is going to be more than double the price in the US?

Because EA are robbing people!
I would hold my breath for an official response either, as we all know customer relations at EA are non-existant!

I thought it was worth a shot, I notice there are EA community monkeys online looking through these threads how come they haven't responded???

I just want to know why, at least Sony had the decency to tell us we would need a second job to pay for our inferior and over priced PS3's, EA are trying to slip it up there without us noticing!

EA community monkeys

Don't say that, you don't want to hurt the monkeys feelings. Saying that the EA staff are like them! Poor monkeys

To be fair, they probably haven't responded because they don't set prices, they don't think this is a good idea any more than we do, and they don't fancy being savaged by a mob of angry gamers, at least without getting some sort of official word on the whole thing first.

Am I right, monkeys? :P

EA seem to be declining to comment on each and every front.

They'll have to come out sooner or later, and realise why theyve only sold 3 copies of RB...

They are quite happy to warn me for swearing, but do not have the balls to respond to anyones questions.
But I shouldn't be suprised really, it is EA after all, what do customers matter when theres money to be made?

Perhaps someone from EA (and this time it is the board moderators who should be answering) could explain why the board is closed to registration now that a lot of people want to sign up to express their displeasure with this pricing news?

It's ea's corperate policy to ignore its customers.

In the pack you do not get the game or a bass guitar. In America the Special Edition (Instruments and game) is £80, now that is great value for money.

Really? I can get a real drum kit, bass guitar, guitar and mic for the same price (probably less than) the Rock Band equivalent.

Suddenly the value for money seems a bit shoddy again.

Not sure why you think that. I just registered successfully. Mainly to voice my displeasure.

For anyone to say this is good value for money is madness. I would prefer to fly to america have a holiday and buy one over there.

LOL, great value for money compared to what? Not the US special edition thats for certain given its under half the price!!!

How anyone can defend this price increase is beyond me, even if you work for EA\Harmonix you have to feel a little sick inside. There is no justification for it otherwise where is the press release to say why... pure greed

Funny.

Harmonix don't set the price, EA do. And of course, over at the Harmonix forums, the advice is to leave the poor little developer out of it and ask EA. :P

I did, they deleted my thread and told me there was an existing one concerning the euro price, funny enough like here there was no mention of why it's so high.

1. You get one guitar, not two

2. You can use any USB mic

3. The game solus is not worth 39.99. It's a very simple code to create (See Frets of Fire)

I think it's a ****ing rip off, as does everyone else, so either your loaded or your an employee of EA (the latter most likely)

I think mainly down to greed...How many US gamers do you think bought this game (i imagine quite a few) EAs gross profit last year dropped by 7% from $395milloin to $229 million. EA expect to be up by $100 million in 2008. (mmmm i would how??? ) £180 per game.
Note to EA..if you dont want to lose money, stop bringing crap games out (Army of Two) and give your customers a bit more respect.

That's down to Play.com not EA. Why would anyone NOT complain over a £100 increase over the US price????

Are you one of the EA staff that has been sent in to defend undercover????
